Not the biggest but he was the oldest around. A neighboring hunting had this one at 8 1/2 years old. I thought 6 or 7. He was bigger last. Certainly a monstrous bull of a body.
I’ll score him up and get him entered soon.
We are on the board gents!

Very nice buck! I am going to try tomorrow evening if I can get off work in time, but Saturday is my official start to the season and I am off work 28-31 Oct and hunting 1-2 Nov. plan is to take a combo of days surrounding Veterans Day maybe 10-20 Nov.

    Again Congrats!

Great deer man! Always a trophy to shoot a mature deer.

I took a mental health day and hunted until around 11am, didn't see a thing which was very frustrating because the camera in the spot I went to had does and a nice 8 point all over it on Tuesday/Wednesday. Looking like pouring rain Saturday and busy with family stuff Sunday. Next weekend is the youth rifle weekend. It may be a couple of weeks before I get back out unless I take another sick day or two.

I doubled up this morning on does. I will get it posted on the score thread at some point this weekend.

I will be off Nov 7 -11 for a mini rutcation. I would take longer, but I am thinking about taking a couple extra days at Thanksgiving with my family instead of the 4 day weekend.

Update:, made it back to Missouri yesterday noon. Did some scouting and some this morning. I settled on the edge of the corn plot with scrapes all around it. Gonna give it a try [IMG]

Sat this morning, saw one fork spike and literally another one spike. Saw couple of does and a yearling doe. Could have shot the fork spike and the yearling doe, but I was hungry for more than a sandwich. I will be back at it 28 Oct thru 2 Nov.

Had to move across the cut lane today, had a doe come out around 540pm and I couldn't see it because the two tree on my left blocked my view. Now I see the tree edge and corn rows [IMG]

We had an eventful weekend. Started with my son’s rifle youth hunt he drew at one of our WMA’s. He ended up getting a great buck after miles and miles of walking mountains.

After that hunt we headed back towards home and made a pit stop with the ML. Had I taken my bow this buck would have been a 19 yard shot. I learned years ago to carry what’s in season though.

It was a great weekend spent with my boy and my buddy.

Is your son shooting a T/C Venture? The stock sure looks like it.

It’s a Ruger American gen 1 compact 243. People talk a lot of noise on that 243 but that is a deer killing rifle.
