We use to have a lease north of Bethany on the Missouri/ Iowa border. Killed some big bucks there for the 4 years we had it.

Nice, your getting me excited to come back up there. Looking forward to hunting some different land and not the typical pine woods here. Just hoping it's close to the rut

That’s a nice one! Our season opens in less than a week. I’m headed down to the cabin tomorrow to put a few cams out.

I went Friday evening and Saturday morning. Friday I passed on a 125” 9 ptr, 2 smaller bucks and 2 doe.
Saturday morning I had a doe and 3 fawns come into the food plot.
Still very warm for this time of year in Wisconsin. Normally hunting is all I’m doing this time of year but with the heat fishing seems more logical.

Hunted Saturday morning in an oak grove and didn't see anything. Saturday afternoon I took my 8 year old and sat the pond. We sat on the ground about 40 yards off the pond because that was the best cover. Took the crossbow hoping he could get his first deer. We had two does come in with about 30 minutes left, but he could not see anything but the heads when he tried to shoot off the shooting sticks. I took a shot as they were starting walk off and shot right under one. I misjudged the range slightly. I though they were at about 33 yards, I found the bolt clean in the dirt at 42 yards. Went just under her. I am thinking they were around 37-38 yards, just barely missed. We have a stretch of warm weather the next 10 days at least. I think I can go back in there and get one if I can get the time. Probably going to be too busy next Saturday, maybe on Sunday.

If I had been on my own and gotten in the tree I have marked, it would have been a 10 yards shot while they were drinking.

10 minutes before the end of legal light, one of the cell cams picked up a big 6 point that I have been chasing the last couple of years. He is back in the same spot.

In my area of PA, I am consistently seeing bachlor groups still and they are hitting acorns every evening. Doe seem to be moving as early as 4pm and buck around 7. Good luck. I will be on doe patrol this weekend!!!!!

Opening day in PA this weekend for a few of us. Good luck if you get out. I will get out at least one of the days. Only hunting for a doe right now so, fingers crossed it happens. Few years back, I took on early on opening morning. Help get the season off to a wonderful start.

Man I wish we had deer like that down here. I'm lucky if I get two does coming around. I'm not passing anything. If it's legal I'm putting a arrow in hit.

Exactly what I was going to say. Top or bottom pin. Thermals should rise fast with warmer weather. Only a low 65 overnight in Illinois.

First sit of the season here in central Illinois. Currently 85 degrees and I wish I was hunting in swim trunks instead of my camo pants lol.

Not expecting much but had the time and wife didn’t mind if I went.

Yeah 85 is still to warm but getting that first set in Always feels good. I'll be heading out this weekend myself I'm pretty sure it's going to be just as warm here to.

This is 6 year old that I missed with a ML last season. He is just an 8 pointer but a huge bodied deer. I have waited to hunt him to when we have more comfortable temperatures. It’s been 90 here today, I guess he doesn’t care. He will move when he wants too.
