It is, I killed it in Alberta in 2012. The area had both white tail and mule deer, pretty sure this one was a crossbreed.

I’m off all next week. Hopefully I can put a buck down. Anyone else going to be hunting?

Reporting further efforts. Missed a doe at 28 yds. Had three crashing through the woods and got buck fever over the doe after beating all three in a nose, eyes and ears standoff at 5 yds. When I finally got the shot, I was so juiced I forgot to roll through my yardages I ranged earlier and shot for 20 and she was at 28, so it just missed with the pin on the heart. Going back out today.

Saw another big 9 pointer and enjoyed filming him while crying I am out of buck tags. ROFL!!!

I am hunting on Thursday and Friday. I switched from the compound to the X-Bow to help my odds. Fingers crossed I get another oppurtunity at one of the ones I'm chasing. It is buck only for me right now.

Guys I just got my buck posted. Sorry for being slow!

I have passed so many does and little bucks waiting for a chance at a second big one. Tomorrow is a full day of bow hunting and then it’s getting put away and going to carry my 44 mag and 350 legend to see what I can get during firearm season.

We are just glad you got one down and nice photo with the family.

I was out today and saw a lot of deer heating up in the rut. No lockdown yet.

No does close enough to shoot today. Taking off tomorrow to give the shotgun hunters on the properties I hunt a day where they are not potentially getting bumped around. So go big and go loud, Orange Army!

Good luck! I hope you get it done. I think we are a few does and a couple bucks away from making us hard to beat this year. Let’s finish it out!

We are back in second place at 849 4/8, less than 100 point out of first. Good luck to those of you out this week. I am hoping to get back out some time next week over Thanksgiving.

@illinibowhunter, do you use Southwestern Archery for your local bow shop? I have been going to Dale and Shane years. I have gotten to know Gavin and Ethan really well over the last couple years too. Nice group of guys.

Update. Hunted dark to dark. Saw 4 buck, no shooters. Two nice bear. Tomorrow is the last chance for the archery season. Yes in PA we have a late season but....I plan on getting one in rifle before then :). If not...will do my best in late archery also.

Guys - Hunted dark to dark again. Amazing day but, unfortunately, a giant 8 pointer came to my back, right and camped there for 10 minutes at 20 yards. I had two small doe in front of me at 30/40 yards and I was sure he was going to head out to them and take a sniff. At that point, I was afraid to stand and turn. He then moved off. So, so close the last 3 hunts. Today I saw multiple other bucks but, none other to shoot. Last 4 archery hunts, I have grunted no less than 10 different buck into 30/40 yard range and two monsters into 20/30. Just did not happen this year with the bow.

At least it was a miss, and not wounded. Always a silver lining.
