My boss is on a lease down near Warren. He said there hasn’t been much moving. Yesterday was so foggy they couldn’t see anything.

I am up for the afternoon, same lake cove as Friday but the temps are 25* cooler. Rifle and bow with me. Will use the bow if it is close enough.

Going out to seek Does on Tuesday. I will post them here if I get one or two to stoke the fire of camaraderie.

love my V3X. I bought it in 2022. I've had some misfortune with it before this year, none the bows fault. i wasnt as educated with arrow weight and broadheads as i shouldve been. also found some tree limbs and blind windows with my arrows instead of the bucks i was aiming for. this year was first year i killed with it, 2 doe, a buck and a coyote and im having a blast with it.

big change in arrow, weight and from mech to fixed blades definitely helped make me successful.

Do we have any deer that still need to be added to the scorecard?

Monday I got onto a big buck bedded in the middle of the lake bed. I managed to sneak into 50-60 yards of where I watched him bed down around 11:30. Sat until dark, he never got out of his bed or managed to slip out of the grass a direction I couldn’t see.

Out with the bow until dark today. Sitting in a tree I have killed a couple of does out of and seen multiple bucks from. Had a spike cruise by around 10:30 while I was climbing the tree.

Unfortunately, the spike that went by while I was setting up yesterday was I all I saw. Very unusual for that spot, especially this time of year. I have killed a couple of does and had multiple buck encounters out of that tree. Really thought it would happen there yesterday on at least a doe. My mini rutcation is over and I am back at work today. Wrestling season has started and that will take up my next three Saturdays. I will get out some time over Thanksgiving.

Warm temps Friday and Satuday killed movement in the spots I was in. Incredibly windy Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. It has been several years since I have seen so little movement between Nov 7 -12. In five days of hunting, I only saw five deer. I killed the only deer that presented a decent shot with a rifle. The only deer close enough for the bow was a spike and not legal for me.

@illinibowhunter and @Berwickbuckmaster how is the scoring on those bucks coming? We have been temporarily knocked out of the top 3 until those are entered. I believe all the other bucks killed over the weekend have been entered and we should be right back in there once we have those entries.

Another conservative 210 points gives us 854 a the lead. Now I just need to kill a buck.

Yeah, I need to a get a legal deer in bow range. Just the spike on Tuesday so far has been closed enough for the bow. I had a rough season last year and missed three times. That ended an 8 year streak of having at least a doe down by mid-November for me. I am hoping the rest of the season picks up for me.
