    Congrats Don !!

Not much to add here. I saw the tall tined 6 pt Saturday night but not in range. Sunday warmed up and the deer didn't move until dark.

I had 3 does step out last night right at dusk @ 35 yards. They were headed the other way and it was pretty dark so I let them go. I see the same three deer almost every time I sit in this stand. The first weekend of our season I passed on them, every other time they were either out of range or it was too dark. I know what I am going to do this weekend is to move where they seem to be headed everyday. I'll get one of them this weekend I hope. I need a south wind though.

Chalk another 50 points up for the team. I shot a doe tonight. Blasted batteries were dead in the camera so I had to wait until I got her home for some pictures. Should have cleaned up the doe a little better for pictures but it is what it is.

Beautiful evening for a hunt though. I had my Montana Decoy ( doe ) setup hoping to have a buck come check her out. The doe I shot suckered right in once she seen it. 7 yard shot. Was pretty neat having the doe focus on the decoy since I was hunting on the ground. At that range otherwise... you make one tiny wrong move, noise and you are busted. Here's a cell phone snapshot of the decoy.

Atta boy Tim!! Congrats on a fine doe.

I have perfect wind for a spot I've been waiting for the right time to hunt. And today I've got it and the time is right. It's a scrape line between a thick bedding area and a destination bean fieild. Guess we'll see. I'll be in the tree fairly early this afternoon.

Hey guys just letting you know I smoked a doe tonight, I sat about 60 yards off a field edge with bedding area's on both sides it started out slow but the evening picked at first I had a few doe's come by out of range then about 5:15 p.m. a smaller doe came by and with an itchy trigger finger I decided to take the shot I made a nice shot at 30 yards. I'll get the pics up later................But I am just glad I could contribute to the team 50 more points for team number 9!!!

I suppose I better fess up... we should of had a buck on the score board last night. I botched a 30 yard shot at the 6x6 last night. :(

I've hunted him some where around 12 times this year which means well over 25 miles of walking into and out of his area and 30 - 35 hours of hunting him. I couldn't have asked for a better 12th hunt with rattling, grunting and the doe decoy to get him in range. Just an awesome hunt the way it unfolded !! Well if I would have left the decoy at home... I would have had a 10 yard shot but even with him being a little leary and moving out... the 30 yard shot he offered should have been a chip shot. I shot under him... he was standing broadside. Arrow was clean. You couldn't have asked for a better shot. I knew something was wrong the way he ran away. He run a little bit... stop and look back... tail up. He acted like a deer spooked but not sure what happened. I had a sinking feeling while watching him with a silent dammit what did I do.

Not sure what I did wrong as I had used the right pin and had previously ranged the area. He was right at 30 yards when he stopped. Definitely wasn't buck fever. I had just practiced a few days before and the bow was dead on. Have to chalk this one up to user error. Sorry guys !!

Tim, better luck next time. I know that made you sick. It happens to the best of us. I know it never makes us feel better to hear it, but it happens. At least you have seen a shooter.

I was able to get out Friday morning and seen 4 does on the way to my property and a 2 year old buck on the way home. Nothing where I sat though.

My back went out on me Friday evening working on a stinking clothes dryer. Did not attempt to go out today. Scared I might ruin any future hunts. Hopefully with a little rest I can get back at em.

    Congrats on the doe hunter6742.

    Congrats on a fine doe!!

Tim. That's a tough break man. What a bummer.

Well I had a little fun this morning. At first light I had a fork horn and a 6 point stroll past. They were together which I thought was odd.

An hour later I actually managed to get drawn on a turkey and make good on the shot. That's only my second one with a bow and that was fun! Will post a pic later.

Back at it this evening. It's turned into a rainy day. Not a hard rain just wet. I'll be close to a thicket that borders a cut corn field. I'm in a corner the deer use alot anyway. Guess well see.

Saw 3 does yesterday evening. Things are starting to pick up a little.
