Back in the tree. Got down and found her. I have to move quick so I can see shiny wet blood. Once it dries I can't see it. Good thing I did. She ran into a cane break and died there. I dragged her to my tree and will sit for an hour or so. The temps are nice and cool.
Congrats! Way to get it done! Lol BUT, that's a great cover scent! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
That was a great encounter with a bachelor group. Thought I was going to get a shot at a pretty good 10 point but he never got clear and he turned and went the other way.
Okay, now that I've got her cut up and on ice and I've taken a shower, here is a breakdown of what happened. There were five does in the group that came in. Even though the wind was in my favor that lead doe was really on edge. She was doing that high step and sticking her nose in the air trying to wind danger. Anyway they were walking by at 15 yards. I noticed that the last doe was a good one so I decided to take her. I waited until she was broadside, glanced at the others to make sure they weren't looking my way and drew. I guess that lead doe looked back my way when I glanced back at my target because when I drew she blew and took a couple of big hops and stopped. My target doe took a couple of jumps back the other way and stopped at 20 yards. She was quartering away pretty hard, so I took my time, aimed for the exit hole and let it fly. It was easy to see those white blazers, white wrap and white nock make a perfect hit. That "pop" was awesome to hear. She didn't go far at all. The pics I'm about to post will tell you why.
