Okay, so I sneaked in and downloaded the pics from the camera on my back-up spot. I'm a little disappointed at the low traffic. Only three buck pics the night of the 28th, the day after I put the camera out and they moved through an hour before light. None of them look very old, but they are sporting some fairly decent hardware. I'd need to see them in order to make a call, but unless I'm mistaken they are all young. There was a little doe movement and I got some good spotted fawn pics. Here's hoping the traffic is better at my primary spot. I'll find out in the morning.

It's about time those crazy turkeys flew down. Yep, there was an entire flock roosting in the trees above me. They spotted me of course and kept clucking and making noise but wouldn't fly down. Needless to say I haven't seen anything yet.
The days still young. I've got animals on cam moving at 10:30. This morning I got the smoker going amd no sooner got a pork butt and turkey smoking and a deer wanders through my back yard...smh.
They're not all down yet. There are still a few in a tree about 30 yards away and the ones on the ground are walking around clucking and making noise. Unbelievable. I should have bought a turkey tag. I've had easy shots at the ones on the ground. I've never seen them act like this before.
I wish. I thought turkeys were more intelligent. Those idiotic birds are still milling around 25 to 30 yards away.
Not intelligent, but cautious, great eyesight, and they make a lot of noise. I wish we had a fall Turkey season.
Okay, this ceasing to be amusing. There were still two turkeys in a tree. I suppose they were too afraid to fly down. One finally did and the other flew to a branch 45 yards away and is still there. I guess it's "no turkey left behind" today. Too bad it's doubly illegal for me to shoot this joker.
Sorry opening morning isn't shaping up the way we all wanted it to go for you. How long are you staying in the tree for? are you hunting in the afternoon?
That's perfectly okay. It's been entertaining. Yes, I'm definitely hunting this afternoon. I'm going to sit here until 11:00 though.
Back at the house now. That last turkey stayed in that tree until I started down, which means the others stuck around too. It was a fun sit.
It's only a matter of time guys it's bound to happen have a good set !!! Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
That's some thick stuff! Talk about threading the needle. How hot is it there? Sent from my LG-E980 using Tapatalk
It's 77 degrees right now. It's really comfortable in the shade. I've got better shots than it looks like I do.
