I’ll be headed out this weekend for at least 2 sits, maybe 3 for the early antlerless weekend in Michigan. Nothing is a guarantee but I’m going to be sitting a couple high probability low impact stands so if m hoping I can break in the new bow and get us our first 50 points. I may stop at 1 or I may empty the quiver to fill up the freezer if given the opportunity. Only time will tell. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Let's go MiHoyt. Good luck, let's see some blood spilt . I run a 3 D shoot for my sportsmen Club that I belong to and we set it on Thursday and I shot it today. Shoot is on Sunday. Last one before archery season opens up around here. I shot fairly well today. 288. To many 8 on the first half.
I’m in a tree, 35 minutes til first light. I’ll keep you guys updated! Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
2 weeks you can remove that spark arrestor and toss on a grill grate for some fresh backstraps.... 2 weeks from now I can wake up tomorrow and hunt. Doubtful I do, but the option until mid January will be there.
It’s late and I’m whooped but I thought I’d give you guys something to wake up to. I was able to double up tonight on a nice 1.5 year old doe and an old patriarch! The smaller dressed out at 91 and the big one dressed out at 134. I will get her posted in the morning! Now for one last cocktail! Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Congrats Mitch, Nicely done on the double. Hopefully the cocktail tasted good, I know mine did. Good eats and 50 pts for NINE TINES. CONGRATS AGAIN
Thanks guys. It was a fun night! I shot both of the does at about 25 yards. The first one was the smaller one, just as I was settling my pin my elbow hit a branch which caused me to touch the trigger, my shot ended up being a little high and a little back catching both liver and lung. She died in her first bed at around 80 yards. The second doe only ran about 30 yards after a perfect double lung shot. The coolest thing is that both last year and this year the first sit on that property were doubles. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
I don’t know what tasted better, the ice cold Busch light or the left over steak burrito that I inhaled at 1 this morning Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Heck yeah MIHOYT! Great start to your year! Let's keep it going boys! October 1st can't come soon enough for me. I put a couple cameras out on the new property the other day after walking it. Still have one spot to check but have some stand/ blind locations pinned. Should get those up this week.
I’m glad I was able to get out a couple times this past weekend and was able to scratch the bow hunting itch, but the struggle is real! Last night would have been a beautiful night to be in a stand and it was all I could think about. Luckily I’ll be busy at work this week and next. I’m currently tearing down 2 automated weld cells this week and next week will be installing them in SE Indiana. This will take me right up to opening weekend and help keep the mind busy. Once the season opens up I should have a lot of time to hunt. I’ve got 2 more weld cells to tear down and ship but that won’t be until early December. Even when I’m real buys at work I’m good at making time to get out plenty but this season will be even better, 40 hours and ample vacation time left will allow for a lot of time in the tree. Team Nine Tines 2023 Champions has quite the ring to it!! Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Less than 2 weeks to go. I have a spot in mind for opening morning. I have to get my climber into there. Set it up on a tree and lock it up. Remember to take the key with me.
