I am making a late morning property move. I am going in to the timber deep, sitting the rest of the evening and depending on how tonight goes, I may leave all my stuff in the stand and be right back there in the morning.

I had some pretty good movement this morning. Just not the typical sign that I have in that chunk of woods.

Good luck to you guys getting out this evening!

I'll be out tomorrow afternoon with one of my 7 year olds. Hopefully he's a good luck charm as I haven't seen anything my last 3 sits by myself.

I'll be out for a short PM sit.

I've got some soul searching to do, wasn't going to sign up this year and this is the reason why. 7 days into vacation, 9 days into November and I have 4 hours on stand.

No worries teammate! Stuff happens and things come up. Hint when you can. This is more about camaraderie and having a good time. You're a good teammate and guy!

I will take a guy like you over the highest scoring teammate any day. I had this man on my team years ago when my wife and i had our son. We had some scares and everything was ok but, this man checked on me and sent me messages that meant so much during some of the worst times of my life. No one will care one day about the bucks on your wall. Truth be told not even your family and close friends. They will remember you for the man you were and thats how you know you did it right. Chin up opportunities will come.

Clint. Keep whining and go kill something.

    Good luck

That's what Clint does. Bees & moans then kills a monster.

Nothing for my son and I tonight. It's just weird... like someone turned off the deer movement switch my last 3 sits.

It only works when you have some of the best land around to hunt. I'm going to do my best to put up 100 points, I need meat in the freezer more than points for the team. No offense to the team of course. I should get a couple late season hunts on private property but my rut hunting is strictly public land now.

Now that I know point restrictions are not in place on public I'm officially brown and down. I've got 4 tags, 2 bow and 2 firearm. Would like to fill them all, can't ise the bow during firearm on public, private lands only with firearm permit, but still have some time.

Had a lil fawn at 7 yards. To small to pull the trigger. I was at full draw. Almost did anyway

Clint, I can relate to your situation my friend. I’m honestly a little embarrassed at how little time I’ve been able to spend on stand this season. A big part of me wishes I would’ve just sat the contest out this year. As Chris knows, I lost the property I’ve hunted since 2014 just a couple of weeks before the season opener. Then, I got a promotion at work which is something I’ve worked for for several years but it has required ALOT more of my time at work. I’m settling in now in the new role and have finally been able to spend some time trying to kill something.

A buddy of mine gave me permission to hunt his property just recently and until today I wasn’t able to get eyes on it. I should be able to atleast put a doe down during late season to contribute 50 pts to the team. But I’ll be honest with you guys, my focus for the next couple of weeks will be trying to get my oldest son on his first deer during our gun season which opens up next Saturday.

My 10yr old is an athlete and extremely outgoing so we connect on many levels and I spend a lot of time with him coaching his baseball team year round. My 14 yr old is a different story, he’s very independent but keeps to himself and likes to stay inside and play video games. He & I sometimes struggle to connect. Long story short, I took my oldest with me this afternoon to scout the new property and shoot my .270. We also shot my 9mm for a little extra fun and I let him drive my truck around the pasture for a little while. (He’ll be taking drivers ed next summer). Guys, i can’t tell you how much fun we had together and how full my heart is right now. On the way home he asked me if we could make this a weekly thing…I just love what hunting and the outdoors can offer. Sorry for being so long winded, just wanted to share with you guys.

I'll be out in the morning after the kids get on the bus. Also do an afternoon sit. Hopefully I can catch one cruising. The last 3-4 sits have been a ghost town.
