That's a tough one Mitch. Don't beat yourself up about this.

I had a cool morning. I made a scrap couple weeks ago. I had 2 does and a fawn come CK out the scrap. I believe it was a 2 1/2 yr old doe with her 1 1/2 daughter. And the 2 1/2 's this yrs fawn. (Doe).
All three stuck their nose in the dirt and on the branches around this scrap.
I have used ever calm rut stick. And I pissed in the scrape.

And the smaller buck makes his first daytime appearance. Headed to Missouri in the very early morning but he will be there when I get back along with the larger brother from a different mother

Update Day 2: Hunted the big woods for buck. Had some hot morning action. Saw 4. one big one, and two legal to shoot. One doe. Biggest one chased the doe in the wrong direction. Other legal one came first light and could not tell if I would shoot that one so passed. Grunted in a small 6. Saw one glimpse of an antler and a grunt for the 4th one. Will try again tomorrow. Hunted from am to 5. Tomorrow maybe am to 1130 or 1.

Yeah, I am trying not to but it’s tough. 2 bucks in 2 years because of dumb decisions by me, I’m just hoping this one lives.

I hunted last night and had my number one coming on a string but hung up at 50 yards, his doe had other dinner plans and ended up taking him the other way (he was locked down pretty hard following her every step). I’m going to hunt tonight and take a couple days to get wash clothes and regroup then get back after it Saturday morning.

Good luck to everyone that’s out or getting out today! Brett safe travels and have a blast in MO with LC!

I had pretty good sits both Tuesday night and last night. Tuesday night I ended up seeing my #1 buck on my main farm and he was coming in perfectly but his doe had other dinner plans.

Last night I saw my #2 on the same property which is an old billy buck with a unicorn point. He just did not cooperate. He would start to come in to grunts but went back to a group of does every time, I played with him for nearly 45 minutes.

I’m taking both tonight and tomorrow night off to wash my clothes and reset my switch. Besides a couple days of only hunting evenings I hunted 13 days straight with a few all day sits in Missouri and my body and mind is feeling it.

Good luck to everyone that is out there grinding! I’ll still be following closely.

I’m in a beautiful valley & unfortunately I’ve seen nothing but an owl…not even a squirrel but don’t give up yet

I was out this morning. Saw a couple does , 1 was almost close enough to shoot. The other was being dogged by
4 PT. I became cold and left at 1035 am.

At 1125 my cam took a pic of this guy
My tree stand is 7 yards away.

    I'm a wussy.

    Good luck team 9!

On the way in this morning I decided that one night away from the woods was plenty of time to reset, I’ll be back out somewhere tonight, tomorrow morning, and Sunday morning.

I haven’t seen my boys in 2 weeks due to my trip to MO and they’re Disney vacation with their mom so night hunts are out this weekend.

I'm out. Didn't see anything this morning. Seemed to be the morning theme today on LFTS.

Day who knows at this point. Last two days have been on fire and I'm playing cat had mouse with the big boys. My #1 came close yesterday afternoon, just went the other way. Today passed on a nice PA 8 pointer. 3 hunting days left in my fall archery season.... Will be out tomorrow and next weekend. If not....likely count me in for only a doe in late season.

Had a great hunt last night in some timber, saw 18-19 deer. I needed 5 yards on a 120-125” 8pt but he just chose to go right instead of left. I’m back in the same stand this morning hoping for a little better results.

    Good luck guys!
