    Hey Guys,
    Randy here from Northern Illinois. I see a couple guys on here i know and am really liking this team. I hunt a couple small private farms and public occasionally. In the last few years of this contest i have shot some nice bucks. I film most of my hunts and some of my hunt from this last season was on BHOD. I am good friends with all of the guys and was fortunate to learn a lot from them very early on. I like Nine Tines for a name and look forward to sharing this season with all of you.

    Besides getting back out in the woods does anyone have anything their excited for this fall? New gear, new property, a certain but that survived last season?

    I have a few things. I bought a new bow that I’m loving and can’t wait to draw the first blood with it. Along with some new broad heads that I’m testing out, they all fly great but I want to see how the 4 perform on animals.

    The biggest one though is getting the green light to hunt the remaining 70 acres of a farm that I’ve hunted for the last 6 years. I’ll be hunting the fringes mostly this year but have big plans for the upcoming years which will add 3-4 more stand locations. Just being able to hunt the fringes this year added 5 additional stands locations!

    I'm looking forward to getting back on the board for the team and my freezer. I ate tag soup last year (for bow hunting) and I don't want that meal again. It wasn't for a lack of trying!

    We got our food plot planted and had great rain after..... but then the 100 degrees heat week hit it. I hope it survives. It's trying to grow but we'll see what happens. I'm looking to get my cameras out soon and take inventory of bucks.

    What's everyone's vote for team name?

    Votes for captain? 20230828_112853.jpeg 20230828_112832.jpeg

    Come November I’m headed to SE Missouri for a quick 4 day hunt with Little Chief, who slays more deer than anyone I know
    He’s on team 5 this year but had been on the same team when we won in 20&21….his generosity is overwhelming

    I’d nominate Mudshark to be the captain, as it seems to me he took charge with the check ins
    Just my opinion & I could be wrong as my wife reminds me all the time

    I have sent messages to the two individuals that have yet to have checked in to the team thread.

    @pick00l
    @OkieArrowSlinger

    Thanks Brett for the vote of confidence for Capt. I would be Honored in being the teams Captain. I've been a Capt one other time and that team won this contest a few years back.

    We have 2 weeks to check in then they can be asked for a replacement. But once the call is made for a replacement it can not be taken back!!!

    Hey fellas!
    Andy checking in from Oklahoma. I’ve got a private piece of property that I’ve hunted since 2014. It has been very good to me and I’ve killed several nice bucks over the years. I’m 39, work in the oil & gas industry, married with two boys 14 & 10. Both are involved in fall sports so we have a lot going on thru October.

    Not sure I’ve had the pleasure of being on a team with anyone of you gentlemen but I recognize almost everyone which is exciting! My season was shortened considerably last year due to having neck surgery Nov 6, but I was fortunate to able to put down a nice 10 the last week of October.

    Looking forward to getting to know you all and excited about this group! Mud has my vote for team captain, he’s been active on here for a long time and is well respected. Nine Tines sounds good to me for the team name.

    I think it was 2017 when I was last on a team that won this contest. @Fix would remember.

    On another note. What are you guys using to post here on the forum?

    I'm using the Bowhunting.com forums and I can't see any pictures. I just see a broken picture symbol.

    Is this happening to anyone else?

    I haven't used the Tapatalk app in years. I seem to remember recommending it to you to help upload pics.

    I have pretty much always just used the browser on my phone and logged directly into the forums. You get full internet forum functionality that way. I couldn't do my job from the tree without using the browser.

    I posted this in the Smacktalk thread, but I'm going to post it in every team thread so no one misses it:

    I want to take a minute and clarify a rule in the contest and emphasize the importance of getting your required two different photos with the buck, the bow and you in the pics for entry on the Official Scorecard. The rules read:

    Scoring system will be as follows:

    Each participant is allowed to enter ONE antlered deer as their “Buck Score”. This must be the FIRST antlered deer that you harvest during the season.

    We had an instance last season where someone in the contest killed a buck but failed to get pictures of the buck. This not only resulted in the buck not being counted towards the team total (of course), but also prevented him from entering another buck killed later. ONLY the first buck you kill can be entered, so make sure you don't make the mistake of not getting TWO good pics that have you, the bow and the buck in them.
