I did not hunt yesterday nor do plan on hunting today with temps above 95° through Monday
My Tactacam cameras show zero activity as well…one raccoon was the only thing moving in this heat
Leaving for LA on Tuesday morning so I’m out of action for a week

It was a slow sit this morning but it was gorgeous out. I’m not hunting tonight since I’m currently grilling and drinking some ice cold Busch lights! Better days are ahead. This cold front rolling through at the end of the week should be absolutely killer

It still absolutely blows my mind that there’s still no hunting on Sunday in PA besides a few days set aside. It seems that would change rather fast with as many people there is that complain to the state about it.

Do they have an actual “reason” for that law?

Team - My mind is blown. The two biggest bucks I am targeting were both within bow range of my stand this am...as I was sitting at work. To be so sad yet, so excited!

Waiting for the cold front Fri and Sat to get out for the first time. I have a nice 10 on cam that i believe to be a 4 year old. Also have an old 8 point that i have 3 years of his sheds. I know him to be at least 7 but he's in the 125-130 range. Not sure what I’m going to do yet as I'm still waiting on some good ones to show. Will keep you guys posted.

If memory serves me, you're good into the late season for taking a buck most years, if not successful earlier.

Good luck guys! I'm hoping to be in a stand later this week when the temps drop.

And I'm off work from October 29th-November 14th!

Your memory is good sir! In the last two years i have shot both of my bucks late season. I just had a really good one show up on cam this morning that i don't think I can pass. Need a better pic, it looks like he may have a busted tine already.

Sounds like just about everyone will be in a stand with the incoming cold front. The best part is there’s new deer showing up every day even with the hot temps. Thursday-Sunday should be a special few days in the deer woods for early October.

Lots of bloody arrows to come, hopefully!

Last year today we had a small front roll through and I was able to pull off a double on a big 6pt and a doe. I don’t want to be tagged out for the competition this early but that means a big buck is in the back of the truck I definitely won’t complain!

I am planning to be in the buck woods on Saturday regardless of forecasted rain (unless its a monsoon). There is a chance I can slip out an evening next couple days but, that is a minute-by-minute decision.

Got an invite for a hunt this weekend. I'm 50/50 on it. It would be a Sunday evening hunt, and that's the problem.

I have always opted not to hunt the evening before I have to work the next day. Both for the chance I could botch the shot for a longer than anticipated recovery or next day search or the potential rush of it all to get the meat cooled. Having to work at 6am the following day and working until 4:30 having an hour drive on top of that would leave for a lengthy spoil time.

24 hour meat cooler is also an option for processing.

    Decisions, decisions
