    Congrats Joe!

Anxious for some of you Sept start dates to come in so we can get some real hunt reports and pics...

It's hot as heck here in Western IL right now...only a trace of rain so far in Aug, will be new record low rainfall if no rain by end of month. Our beans are not going to make it (they were planted late)...but neighbors corn looks OK, and we have plenty of Oaks so I'm not worried (just looks bad more than anything). The desire is strong to take multiple deer with bow this year as I only shot the one last year...
...don't forget guys, 2 different pics needed of any kill with both you and your bow in picture, or points won't count!

I have a week hunt in Illinois the 1st week of November, with a DIY outfitter. Outdoor Partners - Licensed Illinois Outfitter - Augusta, IL I've never hunted the Midwest...but im goin with a guy I met on archery talk forum who's from indianna, and he said he'll show/teach all about hunting farms and what not, as im used to hardwoods only. I really like the setup, you do your own scouting and hang your own stands. they point out hotspots on topo maps for us. supposedly they rotate the properties, so the 400 acre farm i'll be hunting will have been empty
for 2 weeks. so pumped to finally be going after a true Midwest giant!!!!!!

Well I'm sitting in one of the fields I hunt about 175 yards from my stand and I have a doe wandering around in front of me. The wind, temp, and barometric pressure are perfect for buck activity so ill keep you posted.

I was able to get your Nov 1st buck video to play. It looked like you connected with him or did I miss it.

Yup...where you see him last in the video is where he died. The shot was a little back but the broadhead did it's job and it was a very short track job and he expired within a half hour of when I shot him.

I have done some filming over the last couple years, but, I am still not sold on it, probably the camera I use (head mounted Contour) 1x zoom is a bit lacking...

bow kill two - YouTube probably about 17 yards

doe 2012 shot - YouTube closer to 30 yards....

One thing to get everything going while hunting does, but dinking around with camera when your one shot comes in after a couple hundred hours on stand comes by.......not sure what I will do....

Good luck out there. Can't wait to see pictures. I'll be spending my day cleaning the shed to make room for my new toy. My old man gave me a 2001 Omaha raptor. We went and walked around the 4H auction area of our county fair. Had to leave. Wanted to start bunny and turkey hunting.

Checked my cameras and finally had a shooter on the one. You will have to wait until tomorrow for the pics...too tired to post them now.

Here he is! Pretty sure he is a 4 1/2 yr old main frame 8 ptr with a kicker or split by the base of his G3 on the right beam. Starting on the 25th he has been coming in every two days.
