We are here to listen. I believe it helps. It certainly did for me with my moms passing ( which I haven't dealt with ) I felt better when I discussed it on here.

I'm itchin to get out and hunt...but there will be very few days left I can squeeze in a hunt...Basketball has started. My 4th grader plays on 2 teams (I'm assistant for one) and my 2nd grader plays one team that I coach. That's 3 games each week and 3 practices each week...not to mention my daughter's dance class doing a Nutcracker play and practicing 4 days per week. I love it all - especially getting to coach the younger kids...it's just heck on my hunting:(

I'll find a few mornings and saving one last vacation day for some real nasty cold weather - in which I just plan to spot and stalk all day long...just for the fun of it.

Keep the updates coming - 1st place may be a long ways off, but I'd sure enjoy any new kill shots and stories!

That's the best part of the contest is meeting new people and swapping stories!

it's definitely not over for me!! Archery goes until January 31st. I'm laying off the hunting till after Christmas to let things settle down, then I will nail my target buck when he goes back into his winter feeding pattern. I saw him 2 nights ago at dusk walking right inside the woodline...couldn't believe it!! I spent a few hours hinge cutting on sunady and pretty happy with the results! here's a link to some pics at the end of the thread....http://forums.bowhunting.com/food-plots-habitat-improvement/48301-permanent-cover-questions.html

Looking like a solid plan Joe! I'm a little jealous. I'd love to have a lot of land out here. I guess that means that I need to get out and meet some of them. :)

Ok guys I want thank you for all the support. My wife and I are getting a divorce. It's a bummer but for the best. We just grew apart. We talked and realized the only reason we were together is because of the kids ( our daughter and her boys). The split is mutual and the divorce will be very civil. The kids are taking it well.

As a product of a nasty divorce, I'm glad to hear that it is working out. It truly is a bummer. We're here for you Luke if you need to talk.

Haven't been out for a while. Only made it 1 afternoon during gun season. Beginning was just too bitterly cold then I have had some long hours. Hoping to get out Monday afternoon and all day Tuesday though.
