SWEET!!! We finally have water back in the swamp! It's been an extremely dry end of the summer/all of the fall for us in new England. left the climber to make life easier in the morning!!

Well was hoping to get out tomorrow but my Jeep is giving me problems so I'll have to work on it tomorrow. Will try to get out this weekend. HAPPY THANKSGIVING everyone!

The rain stopped overnight and they must have been on there feet the second it stopped cause I didn't see anything this morning. came in a bit early as the wind gusts were to 35mph and I was rockin back and forth like crazy!! I'll be heading out tomorrow morning. the winds are to be w-nw 0-5 which is absolutely perfect, temps 17-25 warming to 30. should be a great day!

Well decided last minute to go for a sit this morning. Late getting here but that's fine because dad moved the blind about 30 yards up the ridge and didn't tell me so of I would have gotten here on time I would have never found out in the dark. Perfect morning. Honestly I would be happy just to see a deer today though.

Been a good morning so far seen 6 does. 3 of which busted me while drawing for what was going to be a 10 yard shot. The other 3 came in 10 minutes later and are now bedded 40 yards from me.

Good luck...today is the last day of WI firearms season and tomorrow starts muzzleloading season. Took my son out yesterday and we hunted some public land but didn't see any deer. Butchering his buck up this afternoon so our gun season is probably done. Very thankful that he was able to fill both of his gun tags(doe tag during the youth season and then his big 8 point opening day of gun season).

Hopefully that is a good sign and you'll have some meat in the freezer here soon!

Well, it sounds like a good thanksgiving for the gentlemen of Team 9! The family and I drove out of town and enjoyed the quiet relaxing environment of the small town that I grew up in. On the way home we saw a nice 3x3 muley and about 60 head of antelope. The cold air has them moving down a lot lower now.

Now, I just need a couple of good snow storms and then I can try and take a coyote!

Hopefully. Trying to figure out how to make something happen. I have to work this afternoon and am closing in on when I have to leave. They are still laying there. Seen some more move way of through the woods. Wish I was able to take the day off. Seen more deer today then the rest of season combined.

Little button buck just walked in. Passed my first opportunity because I though he was going to give me a better one. He turned and walked a different way around than I thought he was going to and wound up winding me. Took the does with him. Should of took the first opportunity. 15 yards nothing really wrong with it other than I would have been turned a little funky.

I made bad shots on my last 2 deer I killed. Not because they were ill taken but because I botched them. Think in the back of my head it is messing with me. Waiting for perfect and passing up good.

I was out walking the property today getting a solid game plan down for all my hinge cutting to commence after boom stick season. I will also start clearing 3 acres by hand after Christmas as well. After sitting the past 2 days and not seeing anything, but hearing muzzle loaders go off in all different directions. It's time to get rolling on making the deer STAY on my property, and give them some security and bedding, and browse!! I'm going to go out to my son's area of the prop to hunt this upcoming weekend, it hasn't been bothered in a over a month!

Don't get into your head too much. You've learned from your mistakes.

Hunted Sat morning. Saw Doe and two fawns from stand, and while walking out I decided to stalk quietly up a ditch I know deer use to bed. Sure enough as I was getting a ways up into ditch I hear some footsteps up above me (hard to see as I was now down in the drainage some and could barely see over the ledge)...I knocked arrow and froze, waiting to see if footsteps got closer. As I'm staring a big doe just stands up in the brush at 25 yards - I was shocked I stalked that close without either of us seeing each other. Too thick to shoot, I thought she would come my way for the shot but ended up going up hill more to check out the commotion. A fawn ended up standing up in same spot also - amazing how well those deer blend in. Made a stalk on one more doe across ditch but only got to 40 yards...so saw 3 more does in that ditch - sure makes me want to get out and stalk around some in late season if we get good conditions (windy or post rain with quiet leaves).

Next weekend is 2nd gun season so no hunting then. Both my oldest boys basketball school league starts the following weekend (I coach one and assist coach the other) so weekend hunts are going to be limited, going to have to try and squeeze in some weekday hunts. My tags are burning a hole in my pocket!!!

Keep after it guys and good luck - I love the late season and hope to see some pics posted up soon!
