I remember Charlie Alzheimer from deer and deer hunting tv saying it would be between the 13th, and 23rd in the northeast.....he was dead nuts accurate the past few years!

if you can get back out this afternoon I definitely would!!!

Only saw one buck this morning, but did shoot a big gobbler, will post pic when I get on laptop.
This week has been odd, very few deer numbers and no chasing at all...one last crack tonight, and maybe one sit this weekend...getting that gobbler made my day though, over Dozen gobbles came in together...

Heading out this afternoon. Wind looks to be out of the SW tonight. Not sure where I am going to sit. Going to be a game time decision. Hunting time is going to be tough to come by over the next week. My work schedule kind of sucks for the next week. I'll do my best to get someone to switch me a couple of days so I can hunt. This is really the only time of year I ask for things so someone probably will. Don't know why but I have a good feeling about tonight. Of course the 1 day of hunting I will have no access to a four wheeler and my hunting buddies are all at work would be the day I kill something. We'll see I guess.

I'm glad to hear that everyone is doing good. Congrats on the bird, Matt! I've been busier than a one legged man in a butt kicking contest the last week. I put together a proposal for a new website for our church (I'm stepping up and taking things on at church that keep me behind the scenes, I'm not an out front kinda guy), we've got our youth group researching a mission trip this summer. I'm also still awaiting the results from my interview. My outlook gets less hopeful every day I don't hear something.

Good luck to you who are headed out today!

Been an awful afternoon so far. Things were promising on the way here. Deer in the fields I stopped by the gas station said a guy said he was working on some power lines up this way and bucks were chasing like crazy all morning. He was jealous I was getting to go out. Got here and immediately saw deer. Got in to where I wanted to be and got my stand set. Went to do some trimming and sliced a finger open. Finally got the bleeding stopped. Got up in the tree and my release is no where to be found. It had fallen out of my pocket somewhere between here and the truck. Followed my footsteps twice. Decided to grab my stuff and go almost crying at this point. Take 5 steps and there it is. I scramble back up ready to go now. My finger is throbbing pretty good but screw it I'm sitting for the rest of the evening. I like my spot.

    Hang in there Matt!
    Any luck this morning Luke?

Couple pics from my turkey I got yesterday, 10.5" beard, 1 3/16" spurs. Had one small 8 pt cruise by in the morning and that was it until flock of gobblers/jakes came by at about 10:30. Was sitting on public land in tree I shot my buck last year. Those turkeys just don't stop long enough or a shot, finally make some mouth noises to stop them and this one stopped and put head up to look...long enough for me to get an arrow in him. Actually had my phone mounted to my bow and somewhat got it on video...might see if I can load it somehow. Still surprised how little deer movement and no rut action I got this week, was 14 degrees yesterday morning - would have thought I'd have deer running everywhere.

No luck. I saw nothing. Decided to take my wife's grandpa out and he shot a doe. A family feud started so we didn't get any pics.

I'm up in the tree now. There really isn't much going on. I saw a shooter at 6:30 but couldn't get him close enough for a shot. He hung up at about 60 yards. My scent was blowing right up his nose. Fortunately he didn't seem alerted or startled.

As long as you don't tell her that just gives her more time to spend in the kitchen you'll be alright. I said last week when I was getting a guilt trip. That was a bad idea but worth it for the reaction. :-)
