Wind just about knocked me out of the stand. Feels like I'm in a boat on rough waves. Clouds are dark and low. Going to retreat to the the truck and eat lunch real quick and grab my waterproof jacket. That I was going to get to sit till noon or so before a chance of rain but it's looking pretty menacing right now.

Decided to call it a day. When it gets so windy that you worry more about which tree top is going to fall out next instead of where the deer are going come from its time to get out. Back at it in the morning.

Figured I'd get out for a little bit. Not chasing deer, but jack rabbits. Man can those things move. I got up on 3 or four in the hour and a half I was out. The pro shop is opened today, so I might be getting some lighted nocks tonight! Finally!

Saw a shooter last night and this morning...so that is promising. Rain and wind tonight, very little movement. 18 tonight for low and high 34 tomorrow...should be the day I've been waiting for...two more full days...sure enjoy getting in some back to back days of hunting...Love being in the woods!

Maybe I should have stick it out last night. Got two text from friends that killed decent bucks around 4 yesterday.

Any way I just got up. Its 17 degrees. Going to be a cold morning for me. We have had no cold weather so far so I'm not used to it at all.Last day I have off. We will see what happens.

I'm going back to the same stand I sat last night. It's only the second time in there. I packed the stand and sticks in last night. There are 4 different deer trails that cross and run the edge of the ridge and a 4 wheeler trail down the ridge. There are rubs and scrapes along the trail and on the 4 wheeler trail. Hoping this morning produces Mr Big!!

Back to it for the evening didn't want to be out of the woods this long but it took a long time to get feeling back in my feet. As I walked out this morning it felt like I was walking in my ankles because I couldn't feel my feet.

Temps 30 now. Wind out of the N at 5mph. These woods have changed so much since yesterday. So many more leaves off the trees. That may be my favorite part of this. Seeing the change right before your eyes.

You guys are right about the cold, I only saw two bucks and two does, dad shot a small 10pt, and buddy saw a shooter. In stand again facing this north wind, I'm not used to these temps yet...

Usually this wouldn't be so bad. It's just been so warm this fall. Then bam 10 degrees. That will make you not want to get out off bed.lol

Well nothing tonight. It was a gorgeous evening for the deer to be moving but nobody told them that.

Really my last 4 days of hunting were disappointing for the most part. Did have a couple nice encounters with a 160 class 10 point on Sunday but outside of those few minutes there was just nothing going on.

I'm up in a stand I hung a few days ago. So 6 does and a spike but none close enough for a shot. I'm holding out for a decent buck anyways. I'll be climbing down in a bit and going. Back out tonight. No seeing much chasing. Anyone else? Is it the rut yet?

I had 2 deer come under me in the dark and saw a doe this morning. The wind has really picked up so I'm not sure where I will go tonight.

I don't think its popped yet round our parts yet Chris. I've had 2-4 doe in my backyard everynight, and they don't seem to be acting like its the rut yet. I've also seen a few smaller spikes and forks in the back as well, and it's the same thing. feeding like normal eating clovers. I was hoping these two days of cold would get it going....I'm going to be doing an all day sit on Saturday.

I agree with you based on what I've seen. I saw a few bucks chasing does this week every time I wasn't hunting. I was hoping we were in it now
