    Joe,
Get Well! You will be hitting it just right in IL, with the moon getting darker and the moon not being up during late night hours. I'm sure you've about hit that "I'm too excited to sleep" stage...enjoy every second! Good Luck in IL!!!

Jace - I love the positive attitude! You are dang right we have a chance at this...we have a lot of guys getting on deer lately with the best yet to come. I know I'll be trying my best to do my part. Nice job so far guys - and above all, have fun and keep the updates coming, I really enjoy them!

Jace - adding a buck also with trad gear would be pretty awesome - I'm pulling for you!

Quick update here - spent the weekend in St. Louis running the Rock-n-Roll 1/2 marathon with my wife...had a great weekend. Great buzz in town all weekend with the Marathon, World Series, and Monday night football. I rode the elevator Sun night with Mike Golic from Mike and Mike radio show on ESPN...I listen to that every morning on way to work, so that was kind of cool to talk to him. Wife and I were also on the ESPN Baseball tonight show a couple times in the background as they panned the crowd going to commercial breaks - so our kids back home thought it was pretty neat to see us on TV. Great weekend of R&R.

Now it's time to hunt!!! Calling for rain to start soon and hang around until late Thurs, so right now my next chance may be Fri morning. But will also get out once this weekend - hopes are to get doe down in next couple sits, and then next Thurs the 7th I will get hunts in on 6 straight days, some days will be all day...hope to add some antler points then. I'll try to update from stand as much as I can.

Don't forget the 2 pics with you/deer/bow for scorecard - we've done great so far!

Joe - forgot to ask - will you have any access to BH.com while you are in IL to sneak us any updates?
Also - do you have a "goal" size or minimum you are looking for in IL? Is it a combo tag (didn't know if you'd fill a doe tag or not)?

Mostly curious if you'll be accessing this page, as we might be able to help each other a bit on what times we are seeing movement, etc...as you're prob only 25 miles from where I hunt...

Get well soon...remember your 2nd buck is the same as shooting a doe.

Getting ready to head out to the same area that I shot my doe last week. I am taking a buddy up there and hopefully he gets a shot at something(he is fairly new to bowhunting and hasn't shot a deer with his bow). Of course I am hoping that something big walks out be me also :)

We both saw a couple deer but nothing in range, but we still had a good time.

Love me a good road trip - drive safe!
You should be hitting the action just right. I was on the road yesterday for work in Adams and Pike counties on rural blacktops and interstate, no road kill at all- which was surprising...but I did detour by our cabin real quick to see that our beans had been taken out and drove around our field real quick - 5 fresh scrapes on edge of field, and new rubs also...we are just days away from increased daylight action. I imagine you'll be coming across IL on I-72...I bet by Fri/Sat you will see quite a few roadkill while heading thru Pike Co...keep your eyes peeled!

Heavy rains here today and tomorrow - still hoping to get out Fri morning...
