Can't beat updates from the stand - keep them coming. Reports from my buddies the last few days is that the mornings have been slower with the full moon shining bright at night. Will you be out this evening?

Not this evening. Going to try and sit all day tomorrow though. Need to do some winterizing on the house this afternoon before the serious cold hits. I may try to sneak behind the house for an hour though. I haven't gotten any pics at the house for a month now though. :-\

Still nothing. Even the squirrels have gone in. You could hear a needle drop in these woods for the last hour or so.

Glad to hear everyone out and about. I am currently quaretined to my room cause someone got sick. So I'm going to spend the rest of my sick day drinking water, slowly eating and getting caught up on BHOD

    Tim,
If you need some extra viewing - I HIGHLY recommend midwestwhitetail.com. It's pretty much all Whitetails which may not apply to your area as much - but Bill Winke is the best in the business and his group produces some great online shows that are only a day or two old at times when they post. Really gives you a good idea how things are going currently in different areas. He is also the most informative out there on what he is doing and why...I tune in every week.

And during the rut he'll start doing nightly video blogs which are about 2 min updates on that days hunt - I really enjoy those each year since I'm usually doing the most of my hunting during those times as well.

    now - GET WELL!

Get well soon! I had to come home early to watch sick son that stayed home from school. Hopefully I don't catch what is going around.

Well I saw nothing this morning. My dad was out on the same land and saw 9. 6 Does 2 small bucks and 1 he called nice. If its the one I am thinking it was about 115" 2 year old 10 point. He saw them up and feeding about 9:15 which sounds about right for this place. The last 6 years I have hunted there I have seen the majority of the deer between 9 and 930 by a huge percentage. Tomorrow its to the public in the morning with the south wind thats what I'm set up for there. Then I'll head back up to the private for an afternoon hunt. Hopefully I'll get something dropped.

I've read a lot of Bill Winke in Peterson's Bowhunting magazine. I like his stuff and will definitely check it out. I have also found muleycrazy.com which is a little more my area.

well boys it sounds like were on the brink of chaos in my neck of the woods. Saturday morning i say that big boy chasing a doe. Last night i saw a 100 inch 8 I have on camera around my house bumping does and my dad saw him again tonight.. Hes hanging close and I might hunt him this weekend if I dont see anything in the morning, I'd like something bigger but if hes close i have a real good shot at shafting him. Then my buddy called. Rattled in two bucks tonight and shot the one. Its supposed to drop to 29 here later in the week with snow and rain easing up for my saturday hunt somewhere around 30 degrees. My guess is buck movement is going to break open and they will be out checking their scrapes and making rubs so hopefully i can get a big boy on the hoof. Just figured id let you know whats going on in my area as far as movement. Saturday cant come soon enough!!

Good to hear of action in your area. Now that you've got the bow dialed in...time to drop some antlers! Good Luck!

yeah my shooting confidence is where it needs to be to take down a freaknasty now. Cant even begin to explain how it felt to harvest that deer. My shots were lethal to begin with dont get me wrong, but as a stickler for accuracy for taking quick kill shots i will admit i was nervous about taking the first shot at an animal with that recurve. Now that I proved my shots are on point my sights are set on taking a big buck and the thought of a bad shot wont even cross my mind. confidence is key in shooting

Atta Boy! I woke up to a freeze warning on my weather app - should have made plans to go today, hope to go Thur or Fri morning before work (or both).

Good Luck - let's add some more photos to the thread!

Had 2 come in before light. Could see them in the moonlight but couldn't see what they were. Nothing else this am. I have pics of my target buck by another stand on that farm now. I'm going those mornings for sure too.
