Got out hunting this afternoon. Had to be the windiest I have ever been up in a tree. Around 6:40 I had three bucks come out of the woods across the cut soybeans from me(about 100 yards). The closest they got was about 80 yards and none were shooters. I did get about 13 minutes of video so here is a small clip for you guys. I actually was able to keep videoing after legal shooting time had ended.

Did a little target shooting today. Nice tight groups at 20 & 30. 30 was a little left of my aiming point. 40 was left and all over.

Enjoy the game, Brady and Belichick don't like to lose 2 in a row - should be a great game. I'm a fan of both Brees and Brady, but have Brady on my fantasy team so Go PATS!!!
    Good luck in the morning!

Good vid. Also good to see bucks up and on their feet earlier...next cold front should get the big boys fired up a little.

Here's a tip I learned and was able to try with all my elk meat this year. You can debone (or quarter a deer being smaller), and place in high grade contractor trash bags, I went to Home Depot and bought some Husky contractor bags. These kind of bags are leak proof. You can then put the meat in these bags, and place in cooler covering in ice. I even draped the tops of bag outside of cooler and closed lid on them so no openings for water to get in. I kept Elk meat for 3 days this way on trip home. I'd recommend some ice on bottom first, then meat/bags, then cover in ice. drain and add ice daily if needed. I filled one 150qt and one 90qt cooler with meat/ice this way...and made me think that this will be my "go to" should I ever shoot a deer on a hot night.
A fridge is another great way if you have one or the space, I don't. Plus meat can start to dry quicker in open air of fridge.
The best part of using the coolers was that the meat was very cold and was much easier to cut and trim up.

We are also fortunate around here that the local community supports the Sportsman against Hunger program and pays the local butcher to process any donated deer for local food pantry - and they are open 7 days per week. We donate multiple deer per year to this, but also nice option during hot weather...and we can keep one for ourselves once weather cools.

Good stuff guys!! I sold one of my older Jennings bows today so tomorrow I'm going to get at least another pack of QuikFletch and either another block target or a case for my bow.

Just wanted to let you know that you may want to get a hold of Fitz because it looks like he forgot to add wiaxle's buck to our team score even though on the entry(page 5) it says entered.

But it does look like the graph score is correct, we are only 2 inches out of third place...

The graph was correct, but not the listings. Fitz said he fixed it. We are only 1/4 point behind third!

It'll happen. How often do you go to that tree?
