    The pro shop cut my arrows and put inserts in, so I have all my arrows the same length. I was also able to purchase some quick fletch wraps. I've got the water boiling and will have them on in a bit. They were looking sharp even without shrinking them. I'll post some pictures when I get on my laptop a little bit later.

    Here's the pictures from my QuikFletch experiment. These were easy!!! The hardest thing was getting the kids to bed and the water to boil!

    Cool looking arrows Tim. Hoping to get out today as long as the storms hold off.

    Getting ready to head out. Looks like the heavier rain is about to be done. Hunting a new spot tonight that I just recently found on the DNR website under the VPA(voluntary public access) program. This farm has corn, alfalfa and oaks, plus looks like there might be a small pond by the one corn field. I have glassed the alfalfa field and each time there has been 10+ deer out there. Saw a nice 2.5 yr old buck last night scouting right by the farm house. Can't wait to get out there. I will update when I get back with hopefully at least a doe! Good luck to all the other guys hunting tonight.

    so im back from my afternoon hunt. a little disappointed and irritated!! My son wanted to go for his first time this year, but was to tired from hockey to use his climber. so he went up in his ladder stand. it was around 70, kinda warm around 2pm this afternoon. I got him settled in his ladder stand, and made my way back towards the house to grab all my gear and climber and head to one of my spots. wind was good, thermocell crankin and the hot sun making me sweat all afternoon!! so 530 rolls around the sun is being blocked my tree tops and I finally stop sweating and it cools down quick. things are starting to happen!!!!!! I see a doe coming in set up perfect...40 yards out a little far, (playing with my new range finder is fun!!!)so I let her go, 3 more does coming in 70 yards away on a run that will bring them in on the 20 yard run, a fawn, a yearling and mature doe...I'll take the yearling thank you!! my phone vibrates...its my son, he is in the shade and freezing cold,, he is only wearing a thin long sleeze camo tshirt...he said he got eaten alive by the bugs, (he forgot his thermocell because he never packed his bag like I told him to at least 20 times) and is cold and wants to go in. so I watch the does come in perfectly, and watch them go right on by, climb on down and go grab my son......im sort of pissed off. not to sound like a selfish baby here...but we cart his *** around for 6 hockey practices a week. this week im only getting those very few hours there to hunt...and it gets cut short at prime time where I could have taken a doe easily. whitetails are my life, year round obsession for me...it never stops.. i have no other hobbies or toys...nor do I want any! I do year round scouting, trail cams, hinging trees, maintaining my fruit trees...slowly clearing trees with no heavy equipment for my future food plot.......ARGGGGHHHH!!!!!! SPOILED KID who doesn't seem to care it ruined the hunt for me!!!!!! :rant:

    LMAO!!! ok im done now....:lmao::lmao:

    Sorry to hear about the kid cutting your hunt short. But you know, they are pretty important. I feel the same way sometimes, not about hunting, but archery in general. There are days I'd love nothing more than to come home and sling some arrows, but I remember that they look at me as their example, so short term sacrifices for the long term gains.

    In other news, I've almost got my target reassembled with some carpet/foam backing on the hay bales. Hopefully tomorrow between church and youth group I can test Quick Fletch's improved accuracy statement..

    Again, good luck to those of us who are out, and Matt, only 2 days and a wake-up until your opening day!!

    Well new property looks to have some great potential. Kicked a huge doe up when I was walking in. Then got back to a hidden hay field and there was already deer in the far end of the field. So I snuck in the down wind side of the field and set up about 40 yards off the field along the edge of some pines and oaks but didn't see any other deer. Was still a fun night even though it was a little wet.

    I haven't had a shot yet. Been seeing small bucks and fawns. My trail cams are still showing the buck i'm after. Did get a trespasser on my last card pull! That didn't make me or the landowner very happy!

    Did you or the landowner recognize the trespasser? If so I would have a talk with him and let them know next time the sheriff will be contacted. Even a first time offender it is like a $200 fine. Glad you are still getting pics of the buck your after, I have yet to get a shooter on camera. It will just be a matter of time and one will show up.

    Wanted to get out Saturday but at Prime time the winds were gusting to 45 mph and it was raining hard. I went back and forth but passed on going out it was supposed to lighten up at 30 min before dark but wanted to explain to my son that 45 mph winds and being in the woods are a bad combo.

    The winds were crazy here to. Hopefully the lesson sticks. I had to explain winds to my sister in law. Still haven't tested out the quick fletch's yet.

    Hope things are working well for you guys. I'm in the last third of a 36 hour shift, followed by a night shift tomorrow. I won't be in the tree till Tuesday night. I think a camera pull is in order and possibly some more scouting. I have seen any bucks bigger than a spike and I'm starting to get anxious. I set some lofty goals this year and I found out there's going to be another hunter on one of my spots come the rut.
