Well didn't see any deer tonight but saw a coyote on the way in. It was just great being back in a tree!

I would shoot the second due to him being older but shoot whichever one makes you happy!

Went out last night. Took my 7 year old daughter and 10 year old boy with. That was interesting. LOL!! We saw 2 bucks a 6 and 8. Pulled the card on my cam and saw this at 6:30 yesterday morning in front of my blind. [IMG]

those are some awesome bucks guys!!!! Luke you had me laughing with saying "that was interesting" with bringing your kids out! haha! I should be getting clockwork back from the meat guy in a few days caped and all, so I will measure up his rack at that point a few times to get the score and post it up! This season is off to a great start, I still have 2 RI buck tags, and 5 doe tags. (I'll only the buck tag on a true giant during the rut) and I still have my Illinois trip first week of November!! I just have to work on my self filming....I have the pre hunt interview....NOT THE SHOT......the 2 second after post shot reaction......the tracking just spotted a white belly reaction....and the touching the rack for the first time reaction!!! somehow with buck fever I didn't hit record for the shot....unreal!!!! haha I might use moviemaker to put it all together, but it stinks theres no shot!! any ideas on clockworks score? im not good with it at all, im guessing 120's??

I'll be cutting arrows and practicing for an archery tournament, as well as contemplate putting in my a promotion at work. What I mean, is the next step in my progression has become available, but I'm not confident in my abilities to succeed at that job just yet. It would take me from hourly to salary and give me a few more job responsibilities. I mean I want the position, just not now. But my superintendent wants me to put in for it. I'm just a little torn

What do you do? It sounds like your super sees you as ready for the position. You may find yourself more comfortable once you settle in.

I'm an entry level maintenance planner and the position is the next step up. It's a big decision and I eventually want to move into that role, but I have an obvious lack of knowledge of the plant (I've only ben there 18 months) and some unorthodox methods for stress management that are viewed as detrimental to production. I feel that I could do that job, but the learning curve would be straight up hill. The benefit to staying where I'm at is it would ease the transition for whoever takes guys place, and it shows mgr where I'm lacking, cause that position seems to open up every 6 months.

50 points for the good guys

15 yards, hit her about 3 inches back from where I should have, quartering away shot, got guts, arrow hit opposite leg, didn't get a pass through, she was liquified on the inside, weird thing was after the guts were out, laying in the bottom of the chest cavity was the last 3 inches of my arrow (saw it because the lumenok was glowing) but the rest of the arrow? no idea where that went, only one hole in the hide, shattered a couple ribs on the opposite side, but never penetrated the hide. Went a couple hundred yards.

Not having much luck with my shots this year from the stand, in the back yard, hitting a dime at 30 yards.......maybe I need to practice some elevated shots, wouldn't think my new bow (about 30fps slower than my old one, sitting at about 275 fps) is letting the deer 'jump the string' more so than my old one

GOOD TO SEE WE'RE ON THE BOARD FELLAS. Joe congrats on shooting clockwork im glad he stuck to his name and you got the job done. congrats on the doe wiaxle, you guys are really making me feel the fever now!

Went into my honey hole mid afternoon today to put in a camera in a creek bottom surrounded by crab apples. Saw some heavy track, and big ones :). unfortunately I bumped three shooters within about 70 yards of my stand though dont know how that will affect them. One was a giant, probably pushing 150 and literally the size of a cow. Havent pressured that area at all besides putting my stand in one evening so hopefully they wont be too scared by me spooking them. Needless to say though that stand is in prime time! Both times i went in ive seen more than one buck over the 130" mark so needless to say im holding out for a wall hanger for a while. i also plan on video taping my hunts this season and uploading them to youtube so you guys can see them.

Ive never been more excited to get in a tree, I'm the most confident ive ever been that i will get a shot at a real monster this year! Hopefully it pans out!

Best of luck to those who are in the field already, keep the pix coming guys!

Went out last night and saw 4 deer. A little 6 and 2 nice little 8s. Had a big doe come out but she wouldn't come any closer then 60 yards. Thursday will be my next day out.
