and some code blue licking branch gel!! i already have chunk and clockwork using a scrape line right inside my woodline..just wondering if i should use my dripper on one of those scrapes? or let those keep naturally working, and go out to the far side of my property along the small stream where i plan on hunting during the rut? hmmm......what do you guys think?

Well the evening hunt was very quiet an nothing walked by so I got down at 8 so I could glass the tall grass in the field we planted pines in an sure enough under the apple tree in the middle of the field I saw bone. They're using the tall grass a little different than in years past when we bush hogged it. I'm going out tomorrow evening to a different stand on the backside of the field where I think they maybe coming in. Let the chess game begin lol

went out to set up the dripper on the stream......forgot the dam batteries.....unreal!!
lots of good sign, hoof prints 2-3 inches in width...the 5 intersecting trails are still very active...freshened up a scrape used the licking branch stuff. BUT i was a little disturbed when i saw the bear prints in the mud on the edge of the stream......not familiar with them at all, have never seen one in the wild, going to do some research now. :jaw:

Don't worry man deer an bear live together just fine the only way the bear will run a Deer off is if it's over food but I've got pics of deer in right after the bear leaves. Plus usually if he's in an area he's not usually in chances are he's just roaming around an come fall he'll start hanging out closer to his hibernation area.

Well I made it to the stand on the backside of the field so let's see if I can get a look at something tonight but as warm as it is here its going to have to be a good one for me to draw back on.

Yeah I try to hunt using concealment more than just height plus the laurel bushes I use stay green all year so if I use them I don't stick out even in the winter. Plus this stand has 2 pine trees right behind me so I really like this stand

I cannot explain how proud I was and am, he works hard and it is nice to see him having fun. he seems to have been really down since his grandmas cancer diagnosis and having to put down his 8 year old lab bout 10 days ago, football is giving him a release. At times I envy him.

Any interest in trading cell numbers and texting during the hunts?

I set a couple of ground blinds today and set a tree stand in a new area.

    Getting excited.

I am up for this. We did this the last two years on the other team I was on and it was pretty cool hearing how the other team mates were doing.
