Guess I should add, I’m Jim, like long sits in the woods in the fall. Seriously, any Illinois guys that want to stack some does in the freezer, message me up. We are overrun with does on the farm. Located in east central Illinois over by the Indiana line.
Hi, my name is Jim and I'm addicted to anything hunting. I am from Indiana. I am a retired pastor and also was a respiratory therapist for many years in a local hospital. I hunt a research property that's owned by Purdue university. Up until this year I also had a private farm in Ohio but the landowner informed a few weeks ago that he and his sons were going to start hunting, so I lost my permission there. On a side note, being 70yrs old on my next birthday, I do hunt with one of those evil devil worshipping crossbows. Sorry if anyone has a problem with that but it is what it is. I'm hoping we can all have a great season and git some deer on the ground. Good luck all! PS, if any of you want to come to Indiana to hunt, I will take you where I have permission. Just putting that out there Sent from my SM-N975U1 using Tapatalk
A lot of James' and Jim's on this team. No worries on the crossbow. I'll even up you. I have two firearm tags here in Illinois. That may ruffle some feathers, but I bring the bow just in case.
Hey y’all!! I’m here! Currently sitting in the airport in Knoxville after moving my son down here. I’m after blood this year, I need to take a life! Only a fawn will get a pass. I’ll be hunting public land in CT again. I want to do an out of state hunt this year but probably shouldn’t for financial reasons! Looking forward to sharing the season with y’all!
I’m good with you being the captain. But I will not participate in any message groups outside of the forum. It is things like those apps that are taking away from the forum. There is nothing that pressing that we need immediate gratification of comms.
Gentlemen, Greetings from Colorado. I am Will, and I am checking in. My first sit for the 2024 season will be in South Dakota on Sunday. I am looking to add a velvet whitetail to my collection. After that, I will be in my home state hunting Mule deer, Elk, Black bear. In my quest to shoot a representative deer in all Fifty US States (26 into it), I will be hunting Georgia or Tennessee and Minnesota this year. South Dakota and Nebraska are two very close neighboring states I hunt every year-I hope to fill tags there as well. I am looking forward to meeting everyone. Will
I have to agree, I won’t be getting on another messaging site. The contest is a Bowhunting forum contest, it should stay on the forum. If any of y’all take me up on the doe hunt, we might text each other, but that’s it. Oh ya, don’t care who the captain is, best of luck to ya keeping the chickens herded up.
We can make the forum work if people are willing to get on here and update. I understand that it’s a forum contest. I just find that people seem to forget about the forum as the season goes on and don’t check it all that often in comparison to GroupMe or whatever. (Like Russ said above, that’s a symptom of forums in general) Also harder to send pics/videos. I’ve been on some teams where people update about once a month. Gets rather boring and that doesnt really feel like a “team” which I think is the goal. So if we wanna go forum only we can do that. Let’s just commit to trying to update when we can. I enjoy the socialization and staying connected. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I am good with updating regularly. I live to hunt, and I play to win. I enjoy encouragement and I will always encourage. We can get it here. Plus, If the other teams see we mean business, then they'll do their best to keep up.
There are nine of us. If we hunt with the calmness, cunning, and tenacity of stalking cats, then "Nine Lives" is a name that jumps out. It has an encompassing ring to it. By the way, my avatar is a leopard. I have traveled the world with bow in hand. There is absolutely no better hunter on the planet than this amazing creature. If they had guns, we would all be dead.
I missed where Swamp Stalker signed on. Welcome! The gangs all here. I’m happy to step up as captain. I like 9 Lives for a team name. Creative. Everyone else okay with that one? Travis - SE Ohio Shedding Light Outdoors Matthew 5:16
Even though I own two cats, I’m more of a dog person. But the name itself is pretty cool and lends itself toward resiliency and perseverance…which I like. Do we need an avatar? I’m decent at creating them, but don’t know if that’s something we want. Just went over to freshen up a rope scrape and check a trail camera on a property I am dedicating a little bit more time to this year. Plenty of does coming by so far. I’ve glassed the soybean field around the corner and the bucks are out there just about every night. One decent 10 pointer. So I think when the velvet comes off, and the beans turn, I may get some more action on the trail camera. Travis - SE Ohio Shedding Light Outdoors Matthew 5:16
