Looked for an hour Saturday.only found a small dead 8 in velvet still... Sent from my KFTHWI using Tapatalk HD
I'm in the same boat Oly. Going to get as low as -30 here tomorrow. I'm going out this weekend to check cams and get my last MPE5 up and I'll probably look some while I'm out there.
Yeah It was -25 windchill here today and it will be like that tomorrow too. I ran an accident earlier today, and I wasn't out there 5 minutes in full gear and I was getting cold. Its bad out there.
Just checked the weather for this weekend and its supposed to be 26 here. That's going to be the warmest its been all month. Might be spending a little more time in the woods than I thought!
You guys having any luck yet? Its still to cold for me to go out plus we are suppose to get some snow and ice here the next couple days. That means I will be stuck inside, i wish I at least had my bow to start working on.
Still holding both sides here too. In the next couple weeks I imagine some bone will be hitting the ground.
8-10" of snow expected here today....I planned on walking some ground this weekend if the trail cams told me to, but I think I'll just stay in the goose blind with all that snow cover
Well we got the snow that was predicted. However, I'm starting to hear reports of some horn dropping through MO and KS. Looks like Sunday I'm gonna have to walk some ground and see what's out there. Hopefully they're sticking up through the snow and not buried.
Thinking about going for a walk this weekend, it is supposed to be around sixty here. How hard are they to find in about 5 inches of snow?
We are suppose to hit a warm streak here soon, hopefully it melts off most of this snow. (we have a lot ) Once that happens I will check out some places close to me. I will be doing some shed hunting when I head home at the end of the month, I had a lot of bucks running around there and I should find some decent sheds.
No luck in my few hours of searching last weekend. Sign was everywhere, scoped some good bedding cover and followed travel routes for as far I could but found nothing. The snow was deep and it was cold. I did much better drinking beer by the fire than I did finding horns. Still seeing lots of bucks with both sides tho, so it's still early.
Check my cards last Sunday and saw a pretty even mix of shed bucks, half shedders, and bucks with both sides. Did a quick scope of the usually places and came up empty handed. Found a dead shed buck, he looked young. Bummer. I hate find em this way, I always feel responsible as the landowner. Empty pedicle
