Near Westminster. You're a good ways west of me though - gonna be hunting those mountain deer huh!? The property I hunt is actually east of I83 in Harford county. Also gonna be hunting prettyboy reservoir and a few WMAs in central MD.
I'm going to the lease tomorrow morning, checkin my 2 covert B60's that are out now and going to put out 2 new Coverts!! Cant wait to see whats up!
Irony......I left my Archery club this evening to find a car stopped and a Doe fawn laying in the road and the lady freaking out. I walked over to the deer laying in the middle of the road and she was still alive. By this time traffic was 50 cars deep....calmed the deer down and helped her up, got her well off the road and watched her bed down safe by a tree. I hope she makes it, I think she will! The irony is I cant wait till Bowseason opens up!
haha fords are alright, I'm just partial to bowties, been driving them since before I could walk, literally
Hey... Just got back from an archery hunting safety course that I took my buddy's son to. jhuff... yes, please play with the logos and see what you can do. Those are just suggestions... Re: trucks - my Chevy died in 1989, my Ford died this year, so this is my new one: View attachment 19777
I'm liking this group. This is going to be really fun once hunting starts. Didn't think about the truck and your name Chevy. Sad thing is I didn't get many good pictures with that deer because it was late and dark. I'm hoping to improve the pics this year, but I like getting the deer cleaned and hung as soon as possible. Joe, good work on the doe. My friend had that happen once and the deer was "in his opinion going to die" so he got his knife out while a woman was watching and really freaked her out. He didn't want the dear suffering. It was opened up pretty good on the vitals. The sad thing is, he probably could have gotten in trouble for not letting the deer suffer.
Yeh I know where Westminster is. Used to live there when I was like 3. Yeh hoping to. I got about 80 acres of private land to hunt and might go hunt some state land this year also.
I hunted Prettyboy Reservoir one year (I lived in York for almost 10 years) ..........couldn't get by the bike, horse, foot traffic in there and never really did learn anything. I'm sure there are some nice deer in there but I didn't spend enough time hunting it to find any. Maybe 3 or 4 times total trying to justify my non resident MD license.
How do you like the Black 60s? I just recently got two red 40s and Im loving them so far. Matt/PA--- nice truck. I was raised a ford guy but eventually I stopped caring.
I really like them, the battery life is unreal. Lots of options and security was a big selling point to me!
Okay fellas. I messed with it a little. If you dont like it then let me know what you would like changed and Ill mess with it this weekend.
Yeah you have to get way in there far away from everything or hunt during the week to avoid most of the foot traffic. I've hiked into what I thought was a nice secluded spot - far away from the main trails/roads only to hear people behind me - turn around and there's two guys out for a jog on another trail that I didn't even see Then there's the guys that get out of the stand around 8:30 or 9am and wander through the area as if they're checking real good to make sure there's "no deer". Of course they always happen to wander near my setup. I've heard plenty of stories of monsters in there and I've seen plenty of does. Even though the sightings are few and far between compared to hunting farmland - I guess that's what keeps me going back.
THANKS huff... OUTSTANDING WORK!!! Now if we can all capitalize on 'Thwacking' some does and BIG bucks... we'll be the 2012 Bowhunting.com CHAMPIONS... pssst....... I just put the avatar as my background on the laptop.
