Got a text from my buddy the other day, looks like were hunting all next weekend on his farm! Only been there twice this year so I'm hopeful! Last year we hunted it too hard and only saw deer a handful.of times. Hoping the weather stays cold after hurricane sandy passes.
Hey guys. Hope the hunting is going well for everyone I'm posting to update everyone on my season. I was out last night for a great evening sit until i was climbing down. I was on my top ladder stick and was releasing my harness from the rope style tree attachment when something let go. To make a long story short i fell about 15 feet.. I landed almost flat on my left side resulting in 7 broken ribs, a punctured lung, and something else i can't remember. I've been in the hospital since last night and they're deciding if surgery is necessary... I was Lucky. Very lucky. I'm not looking for sympathy or anything, just want to let you guys know I'm hoping i can help out the team at some point late season. I'll be following along hoping for success from everyone. Please everyone remember that an accident came happen at any moment. I thought i was taking every precaution necessary aside from using the lifeline system. I will certainly be using those in the future. Good luck and be safe. Kyle Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk 2
Geez Kyle!..........glad you're somewhat ok! You're right, that could have been much much worse. Very sad and sorry to hear this. Heal up brother!
Kyle, dont even worry about this contest, just worry about getting better. Glad to hear that you're doing somewhat okay. Its going to make me be extra careful from now on.
Kyle, glad you are alive & somewhat okay. Glad it wasn't worse!! You'll be in our prayers for a speedy recovery.
Hope you are feeling better Kyle! Saw a big 10 point on the way into work this morning. Also, found a deer with a drop tine on my trailcam in the area where my stand is that I haven't hunted yet.
Got an 11 point last night. Haven't scored yet, but he is getting mounted. 20 1/2 inch spread. Happened pretty fast. He came in on his own. Started going the opposite direction and then turned to come right by me. Shot him from about 6 yards away. Didn't find any blood to start, but I knew I hit him because the nocturnal lit up and was going with him. That nocturnal really helped me find the deer. It had broke off and we were tracking in the dark after giving him an hour. He didn't make it 50 yards. First time I sat in that stand. Got out at 1:00. Saw 9 or 10 bucks total. Lot of little guys. 2 other nice looking bucks that were running and chasing does. Tried getting some better pictures, but it was night and all I had was my phone. Lucky my phone isn't too bad for a camera. Once I score it I'll add to the contest. Took some time for me to cape it out. Hadn't done before. Excited about eating some inside loin and backstraps. Just made some of the antelope I shot into jerky and it tastes really good.
Thats awesome man!! Big congrats on a beautiful buck!!! I cant wait to get out in the woods again. Just make sure you enter that on the scorecard.
Congrats, that is a great buck!! I'll be out saturday & sunday mornings. Bucks a re really on the move here, I can't wait to get in the woods!
OUTSTANDING BUCK Justin! That boy will make a great-lookin' mount. Spent the day at an Amish Wedding then went driving around the area. Saw three bucks (one with a doe). Going out tomorrow.
Big bucks are dropping. Talked to friend that saw a stranger with one that scored 197. Good luck to everyone. Mine scored 157. I'll add tomorrow to contest.
