I like Marauder's avatar. Easier to read. Although I'd make the "8" just a little bigger, or maybe have it say "Team 8" in vertical writing on the right hand side.

Not to change subjects, but while we are all here. What would be your top tips for someone just getting their feet wet bowhunting?

Practice ALOT!!! Get a rangfinder if you don't already have one. Limit your shot distance to a yardage that you are proficient in without question. If you will be hunting from a tree stand do some preseason shooting from the same height. Man I could ramble of this all day... ha ha

Once you do get an arrow in a deer be patient!!!!!! Give it time even if you know it was a good hit and you think it is dead. Unless you see it drop from the tree and witness it die of course

Great advice! I would just add, when you shoot from an elevated position, bend at the waste!

This makes sense. Been shooting about 400 arrows a week for two months. Just need to get a rangefinder and a treestand. I can't wait for this season. My bird dog might get a little upset though.

Well guys we keeping the name? We can always brainstorm some more if you guys wanna try something else.........Also my buddy emailed me back, looks like i can get the shirts made for 12 bucks shipped in a flat rate box (I'll ship them).I'll ask him to send some design ideas if he can, maybe his graphic designer can make us a bad logo! He's also donating all the shirts for our annual Ohio Veterans Hunt, which is awesome!

These contest have been going on for years. Before BH.com it was Hni. I don't think there is a name that hasn't been used. LSU. Practice. Period. In your full hunting set up. From the ground the sky. Whatever. Practice in your full gear. Make contorted shots. That buck more than likely isn't going to walk out and stand broadside at 20 yds.

Yeah it's hard to come up with something innovative! stick with the Vigilantes and I'll see what we can come up with!

take your target to the stand, or get a 100 dollar glen del buck and take it to the stand, practice those shots like TeeJay said, wear the gear you'll be hunting in. I actually take a little ball target rinehart makes to the stand with me, i chuck it off in the distance when i get to my stand, wherever it is when it's light is the place i practice..... that is unless a groundhog or squirrel walks by....
Make sure you get some broadheads that fly like fieldpoints and don't plane, I've had my best luck with G5T3's fly very close to my field points out to 60 yards, and cut on contact same size entry and exit. furthest I've tracked a deer has been about 20/30 yards in the past 2-3 seasons.

    Venison Vigilantes we remain!
If you guys have ideas on shirts let me know, wording, pictures, go ahead and post them so i can download them, i will then give those to the designer and see what he comes up with.

I was thinking Left breast on front putting V V overlapped, and having maybe an archer shooting a deer like our logos.. kind of like you might see car decals.... on the back that is.

Two Different Ones. Also I tried the vertical team 8 and it just doesn't look right, the text would have to be very small so it wouldn't look crowded and also you wouldn't be able to read it.

Looks good the way it is Tim.. the larger 8 looks good, I also thought adding the word team would likely look crowded and be too much

Thanks TJ. Yeah I had ideas for the Avatar but the image really doesn't have a lot of room for anything but the our team name. I was trying to think of a way to incorporate our profile names however if we wanted we could work on a signature or something. Just a thought. :tu:

I like the AVI as well.

On a side note, just secured another plot of private land. This time in AR. Should be interesting. The land is at my Uncles Duck club, so I am hoping that means the deer will be used to noise lol!
