**Team 8 Venison Vigilantes Official Thread**

My season ends this Sunday. I haven't hunted near as much as I would have liked. I'll get back out there this weekend, but not sure I'll be taking a worthwhile buck for the team. I don't have any pictures of the monster this year, and haven't seen him running the field at all, so not sure he's still around. I do have a pic of two nice bucks, but I'd really prefer to let both grow another year or two. However, at this point, I need meat for the freezer and will happily take any deer, even if it's a spike.

 

My season is over. Today is the last day of season, but I'm not hunting in this weather. We got 3 inches of snow last night, and it's falling hard right now. We're expected to get another 5 to 8 today, plus more tonight. I saw a total of about 16 deer yesterday, but they were all on the neighbors property on the other side of the creek. It was likely the same 8 deer, just going both directions due to the coyote in the area chasing them back and forth. The wife isn't thrilled that I only took one deer this year, but I also didn't get to hunt near the amount I wanted to due to the wedding, moving, family activities, etc. Hoping next year is different.

 

Two more weekends left here in IL. Weather seems to warm up a bit on Sunday so I may try for an evening sit.

 

Well Guys, I made it back to the States 2 weeks ago, only to come back to some crappy weather! Ive been out everyday since, got a rabbit today as well.... I smacked another doe the 2nd day home, not a big one by any means, but got some sausage, jerky, and steaks.
