Ok Guys it's been awhile since I've hunted. I went out today and had two or three come running through. I think they may be chasing by me. Also I checked my cam and I have at least 3 different new bucks on camera. Here are some of the good pics.

Marauder Update: I'm going to be in the stand this morning which is the first morning sit of the season. We had a fresh layer of snow overnight which is exciting. Should see em coming pretty good. Also as I've mentioned I have some new bucks on camera which is good. I'll have a decent wind so all that needs to happen is have a deer show up! I'm going to kill something today!

Good Luck out there. I'm leaving here in a couple of hours to go to Jo Daviess county. Going to be there all week. Should be interesting.

Buck down! I am in an area with poor reception so I'll post the pictures and submit the score as soon as I am by a computer.

He is missing one of his antlers, looks like it broke off so he might just be worth 50pts, but I am pumped to have taken my first deer!

Did his antler fall off after you shot? If so and you found the antler you should get credit for it. Regardless, good job.

    Congrats guys! Great Job!

Well yesterday I sat all day. I sat probably 9 hours in the tree and didn't see anything but a couple gray squirrels. One thing that probably wasn't in my favor was the wind. According when I went out it was supposed to be around 8 mph winds but I had 16 to 20 consistent mph winds. That wasn't to fun enduring that almost being blown out of the tree a bunch of times. A few times I thought to myself (is this wind ever gonna let up? Should I just pack it up and leave?). But I stuck it out which I'm sort of proud of. On a positive note I took a small walk from my tree (to warm up) and find a very large scrape and 2 rubs together. The larger of the rubs was actually used last year which I thought was good seeing that the buck/bucks who used it last year are still alive. Also the scrape is as big as I've seen and I'm thinking it's a community scrape. If not perhaps a giant buck made it. Any way I'll be back out Monday afternoon. :tu:

Lost a buck tonight. I was sitting in a patch of evergreen shrubs that I saw a real stud go in and out of last evening. As I am sitting i see some movement behind me. I look closer and a nice buck with heavy and dark antlers is making his way thru doing a little grazing. I totally rushed my shot. Hit a branch and the arrow ends up hitting him in the back leg. Low on the back leg, not even a chance of getting an artery, not that I wanted it to at that point. I am just trying to assure myself he will be fine. This was the first deer i have ever shot and not recovered. I never realized how crappy a feeling it was until now. To top it off, he ran onto a property i cannot go on. After dark I did go on the property just to make sure it was not an artery shot and that there was not a dead deer laying there. I am almost certain he will be fine, but that little bit of doubt is really weighing heavy on me. But I am going to saddle up and get back out there in the morning.
