I too also plan on shooting a doe early I need some meat, I won't shoot a doe at the one spot I hunt due to the fact of all the shooters on it and don't want to mess anything up. I know I know it won't but it's what I prefer to do on that specific location I hunt. Ohio comes in on the 28th and PA the 5th. Good Luck to everyone and shoot straight

What is everyone's though on mechanical vs fixed blade broadheads?

I've only used fixed blade broadheads. I have an old, slow bow and don't want to risk mechanical broadhead failure due to lack of speed.

If you have the ke. By all means shoot the rage. They are amazing. Other wise its tough to beat a slick trick.

I have not found it within myself to shoot expandables. I tested a few different ones a couple years ago and wasn't happy with any of them. Some that are available now are possibly better, but I will stick with my Montecs. Deadly and tough as nails

I didn't get out last weekend to swap memory cards or put up a stand. Unfortunately, I wrecked my truck Friday evening. Not too bad, but it'll be in the shop till next Wed. I might borrow my dad's truck and run out to the woods this weekend, but I doubt it. I really want to pull the mem card, but don't want to go out there too often before season starts, and can't exactly drive the treestand out there on the back of my motorcycle.

I had a friend that hunted off his bike, drilled holes I his bow case and mounted it on to a rack on the back of the bike, it was great seeing him going down the road with all his gear. Priceless

LOL yep, I had a leather rifle scabbard on one side and a homemade rack on the other that would hold my bow, Both of which I could pop on or off in moments. I strapped more than a few hang ons and climbing sticks to that old girl also! Good times! Only bad part was ridin on snow covered roads in December at 6am and 25 degrees!! Bet hey after those rides my stand felt warm! lol

Good luck to all who already get to hunt. I took opening day (Oct 1) off work. Not sure how much hunting I'll get done the first two weeks of October due to wedding on the 12th, but I'll definitely be out there opening day!

I wish, my sesson doesn't start till oct 5th in PA and Ohio is Sep 28th so I'm waiting, I'm ready to go tho. The last weeks always seem to take the longest to pass.
