Checking in. Here we go again. Just acquired my own property this year 48 acres. Unfortunately my schedule at work has been bumped up to 6 days a week. I don't know for how long yet but hopefully will end in the next month or so. Season starts in a few weeks but I won't get rolling till the end of Sept. looking forward to getting to know everyone. Whats up Team 8! Checking in. I'm from southeast Kentucky. Season starts September 2 for us in the bluegrass state. Probably won't get to hunt much until after first week in October, was blessed to draw Kentucky elk tag so trying to get ready for that. But after that should be full throttle. Look forward to getting to know everyone and have some fun doing what we love to do.
Hey guys checking in! Hunt in South central iowa. My go to property is 55 acres in the perfect spot! Hopefully we get some rain so our plots will take off. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
Checking in from central MN. Will be hunting a friends 80 acres which hasn't produced much in the last few years. I have applied for a couple of local specialty hunts, though the emphasis is removing antlerless deer. Good luck everyone.
PREsent!!! Checking in from NE Kansas. I have a new 300+ acre farm to hunt this year. I also have my 2 parcels that I am going to try to reserve for prime time pending what the cameras reveal. I will be bouncing around on Kansas WIHA (Walking in Hunting) well. Our season starts Sept. 11. I am going to take it easy until October to try to avoid early burn out. I got into a mess of chiggers this weekend and can't even stomach being in the bush until I recover and it starts to cool off a little bit. Feeders and food plots are in place. I just don't have a single camera out though...
That ains't no lie. I bet I have over two hundred bites. Its my hole body. All the way from my neck to my feet. I bet I have over 40 bits just on my stomach! It's my fault. I am on day 3. They are pretty much past the itching stage. Now they just hurt like a *****. Sun light, heat and anything that touches me makes me cringe. I am so uncomfortable I can't even think straight. Thought about taken sick leave a hand full of times....
I'm lucky and chiggers have never bothered me all that bad. My youngest daughter gets eaten alive. I can't imagine. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
Checking in for the great 8! Live in South central va with an early October opening. I have a brew property to hunt about 25 seconds from my house thats about 50 acres, plus another spot that is usually good for some rut traffic. I've seen a monster by the new place so I'm hoping he frequents it often! Sent from my SM-G930P using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
Thanks for reminding me to re spray Premethrin on my clothes before I go out and check cams this week
We finally got some rain!!!! August has been much wetter then June and July combined and we've only had maybe an inch of rain this month at the property. supposed to rain some more tonight. Fingers crossed. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
I not much better today. I might have slept a couple hours last night. Just took a prescription dose of benadryl and ibuprofen. We'll see if that doesn't put me down for the count. :p I vote MGH_PA for team captain. Should go well with his moderating duties! Post your hit-listers if you got them! I need to be motivated!
Yikes, best of luck. No trail cam pics yet, I dont get to access my properties until just before season
Don't have any pictures since we haven't gotten cams out yet. Been to busy moving stands, trimming lanes, and getting food plots ready for planting. Finally have some of the frigid forage we planted coming up. The rain we received today should help out a ton. As for our hitlist we should have a few 160s and 150s, and all the 130s we want to shoot. Hoping a giant shows up again. 2 years ago we were after a 190" 9 point. Neighbor ended up killing him... and he's a jerk so not good. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
I'm good with MGH as team captain. As for hit list got several decent young bucks I'd probably take shot at if walk in front of me , but there is one I'm really after. I call him big papi. Had encounter with him last year. Not sure his age or score, if want to take a stab at it by all means let me know.
