Well, here he is. This morning I got into my stand about 40 mins before legal shooting hours. I was in my stand for about 35 mins when a doe came running through. About 3 mins later this guy came walking through, he approached down wind, and I was worried he was going to smell me. He went to the left of my stand, and I looked down and checked my watch, it was 6:41, one minute into legal shooting hours. He was in a thicket and I couldn't tell how many points he had. He ended up coming out of the thicket, but all I could see was from right behind his neck to about mid way down his back, I thought he was just a large 6 point! I drew my bow and let the arrow fly. I saw my lumenok go through, and I was thrilled. I also had just put new batteries in my sight light and I needed them today! I heard him run and crash, but he ran into an area that had been clear cut, and had a ton of under growth. I waited an hour, got down and found my arrow covered in blood. He ran about 31 yards from where I shot him and piled up. I only saw six points on approach, but was thrilled to see he was an 8 point. Fantastic day! I can't believe how quick it all happened!
Added a couple more pics to the score thread so they can enter my buck for our team. My son arrowed a good buck the night before I killed mine. It was a good 24 hrs!!
Mr. Bread have you recieved your score in yet? Also just an update for me- I will be hunting next weekend and then the three days after Christmas. I will be sitting over my 1 acre winter oats plot in the evenings to see if I can get a buck coming out at dark to feed. As for my moring hunts I will hunt a couple of my smaller kill plots. Really hoping to get some antlers on the ground but most of all I really need one more deer to fill the freezer. Good luck to anyone who still may be hunting.

Hey guys, been pretty busy with ice fishing and all. I ended up shooting a nice 10 point, mid 150's with my rifle. Ill post pictures when I can get pictures on the computer. Hope all is well.
When you say rifle you mean your rifle fast bow and arrow right? LOL! Congrats I can't wait to see pictures!
Any updats ? I haven't been able to get out much now that indoor archery has started have one more trip to Kansas planed Sent from my SCH-I435L using Tapatalk
I went out last weekend and didn't see a deer. I will be back out the friday- sunday after christmas. Probabaly my last time out for the year.
I haven't been able to get out much lately as I was finishing up a semester of grad. school and was very busy with that and then there was also the IL gun seasons. I plan to get out the weekend after Christmas and hopefully I will have some luck.
I wrapped up my season last weekend. Was hoping for better results but it is what it is. When you decide to set your standards for a certain class of buck you might have to eat tag soup and I passed alot of young smaller bucks this year.
I got out this past weekend and got a big doe Saturday, but it was for the Illinois CWD season with a shotgun. Not sure if I will get out again with the bow or not.
Well I'm sorry I've been absent. Lot of crazy stuff plus the holidays makes for a stressful deer season! Good news is that I got a doe on the ground! Bad news is that my taxidermy is saying he can't find my deer head, and I'm not really sure how to push forward with this situation. He said he knows he has it, but that I will have to wait because he's really swamped right now. Any advice would be great Thanks
Well if he knows he has it you could just wait until he can get a few more done then find it. Or you could go in and chew his *** and demand he produce your mount
1st day bk out after fixing my bow from and I just shot a doe!!! Seen her run off with the arrow in her looked perfect. Heard he crash about 50yds away. Will give it 30 min then go looking for her.
