Hope all is good with everyone! Took work off Friday to hunt and then Saturday and Sunday. Bucks are starting to move and can't wait. Anybody seeing much?
I saw my first 3.5 yr old chasing a little tonight, the chase phase will be in full swing soon. I suspect that a lot of big bucks will hit the dirt this weekend. passed this guy tonight, maybe my wife can shoot him!
Well one of the guys that hunts our place in Indiana ran a couple cameras Friday when he was there hunting and there were two surprises on a camera we had over a scrape. Sorry for the poor image quality but instead of emailing the pics he did the ole take a picture of the computer screen trick. #1- This is the first pic I have of this guy. He is young but no way I would be able to hold off if he walked by #2- I have some history with this little fella. I had a few velvet pics of him last year then he went missing until he walked out across the pasture 70 yards in front of me the day before gun season last year. Then he went missing again with no pics this year until this one. I know its him because of how squared up his rack is and his brows look the same.
Those are some nice looking deer. I have not been out much this month mostly due to being sick for a couple weeks. Coughing and hunting whitetails do not go well together. I am better now and ready to start getting at it. I am hoping to take a day off work this week and get out and definitely will be out this coming weekend. Also, will be taking some vacation in November. Hoping to have some luck in the next few weeks.
Well its high of 88° down here and the deer just aren't moving. I did find two scrapes, one of em is right by my stand:-) hopefully this weather will cool off+
I just checked the weather for my hunt this weekend and Saturday is only a high of 48 with a low of 32. All the pieces seem to be falling into place. I am getting day time pics of a few good 10 points, scrape activity has picked up and the weather is looking awesome. I really hope it all comes together for me this weekend.
I will be going hunting 2moz all day on my friends land. I know off 2 10p in the 130s on the land from trail cams, it's about 150a which I am the only hunter so it gets very low pressure since I'm only up there 1-2x a mth. I won't be shooting any does I use it mostly for bucks. I will be keeping live from the sand updated and will post any good pics from the trail cams when I get bk.
Bucks are starting to get on their feet here in Wisconsin. Saw 6 bucks Sunday morning all chasing does. A couple 130" 8 points at 30 yards a few basket racks and about 155" 10 which of course didn't do what he was suppose to do. But it's getting to be that time of the year!!
With all signs pointing to the start of the prerut in most areas I hope everybody can make it into the woods at least once this weekend. Good Luck!
Well, went out this morning, checked the cam and wow, lots of does! That's a good sign, right? I've never had 5 does on my foodplot before!
Well I was excited to find 2 nice shooter bucks on camera just 20yds from my stand 1 which is during the day. I will be hunting Monday and Tuesday all day hoping to get 1 of these bucks. After that my time on on this property will be very little due to job change but I will be hunting behind my house a few night a week just no buck yet just does but they could bring in the bucks
I put a doe down this evening. Need two pics from different angles and my bow in the picture for points right?
