I'm with you guys. Gonna be doing some serious hunting this fall so hope to contribute some points on my end!!
I'll give you guys the run down on myself. 43 years old, Divorcing 17 year old daughter Own a lawn care business that I shut down 1st week of Oct. every year Hunting Saskatchewan in Aug., pike/brown co. lease with Dan,JZ and Duke, Ontario with Dan and lots of private land in WI in between. Lets get it ON!!!!!!!!
What' up guy's? I know most of you guy's by handle anyway. Jason good to have you on 2 teams. For the rest of you I'm Dan, I hunt in WI mainly with a couple of other states under my belt. I own 130 acres in west central WI that I hunt most of the time except this year. I have a deal with a guy in Northern WI to chase big bucks up there. I also have my Earn a Buck sticker for the CDW zones in southern WI. I get to shoot 2 bucks as of right now. Looks like we have a chance.
Checking In.... Hey guys good to be on this team, looks like a great group of guys!! Me and 130 were on the same team last year. I will be back on more later!!
Yeah, nice to see we're on 2 teams together Dan! ;-) My name is Jason and I live in SD but hunt all over really.... This year I've got 2 out of state trips planned. 1st one in just a couple of weeks, going to be hunting archery elk in NM. Then the one you all are probably the most interested in :-) Going to be archery hunting 9 days down in KS in Nov for whitetails.... Of course as much time scattered in there hunting my home state as possible too.... Only bad thing is that in my 'core hunting area', I can't get just an archery doe tag. In order to shoot a doe I would have to burn my 'any' deer tag - which just isn't going to happen.... But I still may be able to hunt a few times in some areas where I can shoot does too - depends on how things play out... Just spent a bunch of time shooting broadheads tonight and was very pleased with how my bows were shooting... Very good BH groups out to 55 yards - so I'm just in lock down phase right now...
My name is Jim. I hunt in Indiana. Urban deer zone comes in on September 15th for me. Regular bow starts on October 1st. Finch and I were on the same team last year. I did manage to drop a doe last year. It was the only deer that came close to coming into range for bow or gun. Hopefully I will get more chances this year. I'm hoping to get out squirrel hunting this weekend and check whats on my trail camera. Might be working though well see. Good luck and hope to get to know you all through the season. Wow everyone checked in already.
Damn guys we are already getting ready to drop into the second page, we cant be having that!! A little intro for myself..... My name is Seth. I am from Cumberland, Md and spend about all my free time from Sept.15th til the end of November in the woods with my bow! I dont have exactly world class bucks or even any bucks that will get us any good points but I will try my hardest! I will definantely be putting some does on the ground for sure though this year! The largest buck I have killed was last year a small 8pt that scored a whole whopping 78" or something like that, I did pass on a couple other bucks the same size so maybe they will still be around and have grown a little bit?? I am also taking a trip to Ohio for the whole first week of November so hopefully I will get the chance to take a nice buck there, but I am not betting on anything!! I am looking forward to agood year with all of ya fellers! NOW lets get to picking a name/captain...etc...!!!
My name is Donnie, 24, and I live in the moonshine capital of the world (Franklin County, VA). :D I have access to over 1000 acres which some of it borders a pretty well-known Va lake. I'll be in the woods, bow in hand, for most of October, November, and December. I have roughly 46 days I can be in the woods this year...and I WILL BE for most of them. I'll be holding out for a buck that will at least make P & Y. Thats my goal. I'll be killin' a couple mommas too. Good luck everyone!
C'MON GUYS why am I keeping this thread alive?? I wan to see you guys running your mouth about HOW WE ARE GOING TO WIN THIS THING!!!!! I understand now we are a nobody, underdog in this competition but the least we can do is talk about how we are going to run the scores up here....haha!! Lets do this!!!!
I agree, let's try and keep this thread/discussion active :-) Have to admit, I like what I'm hearing so far. Sound like we're all fairly serious hunters and are planning to spend some major time in the field this fall - not just a bunch of wannabees that happened to sign up for the contest!! That's the key, the more people we have contrubite, the better chance we have at bringing this baby home.... I'm now officially UNDER 3 weeks until I leave for my elk hunt, so I can't wait!!! Best thing is that when I get back, archery deer will nearly be open, so I don't really have long until my season 'kickoff'....
Yep...we have just as good of a shot at winning this than the next team. I have until October 3rd until my season opener. I hope its not going to be hot then.
