Congrats to her! Wow that is a huge bodied buck, it doesn't match his head. Corn fed I take it? Nothing for me & the boy on Sat. We'll be going back out again on Wed & Sat. nites. bummer is that I'm in school taking 3 classes & I'm getting jammed w/homework, so hunting time will be lighter than usual. Good luck to you Ty. get a chance, how bout some details of her hunt?

Under a week until I find myself up a tree without a care. I can't wait but know I have to. Right now forecast is calling for low of 50's and highs in the mid 70's. Looks like a trail to freezer kinda day. Like McDonalds, I'm lovin it.

Unless a rarity occurs on my first attempts at public ground hunting, don't expect much in the form of antlers until early November.

I love this time of year, so many unknowns yet not a worry in the world

Been a little quite for our team the last few days. After taking last Saturday off to go to a football game, I'm back at it this weekend. Leaving Fri morning and heading down to the lease and will be back some time Sat evening.

I've just been patiently waiting and getting my new bow dialed in. I'll be good to go dark and early Friday morning. My only dilemma is the filming aspect of it. No one in town sells any illuminated nocks in the H size, ordered some from bass pro over the weekend but they didn't go out until yesterday afternoon, USPS tracking info says won't deliver until 10/6, even though it's a 4 hour drive away. I may try to whittle down an S nock. I'll still try to get any opportunities on video though.

Good luck to everyone going out this weekend.

Good luck to you cls74! I am getting out this weekend hoping to get it done. The colors are looking good on the trees and the temp is going to be cool. Will be a good weekend I can feel it.

    Thanks.
I sanded some S tracer nocks down, gonna try them tonight so hopefully that's taken care of that problem. Still trying to come up with a way to do a phone mount in the tree as well.

Regardless of what happens, I'll be out there in 15 hours.

Things didn't pan out very well for my morning sit. Details in live from the stand tread on that.

Headed out this afternoon and was on stand when what turned out to be a button buck charged in and stopped at 8 yds. So as long as back yard photos are allowed we should have another 50 points on the board. 75 degrees, being eaten alive by bugs and a 1/2 mile drag deterred in the field photos.

Edited to add a not so great picture. Neighbor has been hounding me to get him another deer this year, offered it to him and he reimbursed my tag money and I dropped it at the processor.

Thanks, today went nothing at all like I had planned for. I didn't want to be out in the heat of the afternoon, but it is what it is.

Good luck to both of you tomorrow.

I'm still undecided whether I'll go out tomorrow morning or wait until Sunday morning. I'll have favorable winds both days, but temps will be better Sunday. Looking at 50 for the low tonight and mid to upper 30's tomorrow night.

Way to go cls. It's kinda windy here and chance of rain so I'm gonna go to my blind this afternoon and give filming my hunt a try.

I think I'm going to try my luck again this evening. Been pretty windy here today as well, gusts up to 28mph. Supposed to die down to about 15 mph by 5:30 or so, but rain has left the area.

I'm going to be a bit more patient than I was yesterday though.

    Good luck to everyone

Hey guys just got in from hunting Fri and Sat at my lease. I had a couple young bucks within bow range this morning. Temps were way down from the first 2 weekends which brought on more deer movement. Hunting public land next weekend then back to the lease in 2 weeks.

    Congrats on the doe.

My first attempt at videoing out of the ground blind went well Saturday night. Only had two fawns to tape but it was kinda fun. At last light though about 80 yds across the field I saw the two bucks I passed on last year. I know the light wasn't real good but I think I'm gonna be glad I didn't shoot one of them last year....they look to have grown quite nicely. Just got back from hanging a stand on the other side of the field. :)

Going to be a little slow going for the next couple weeks. Temps are supposed to near 80 again this weekend, and youth shotgun season is open Saturday and Sunday.

Not sure if I'll be working this weekend or not, I may try to get out Friday AM. Doubt I'll do much after that. One thing is for sure, come Halloween I'll be out every chance I get.
