This was the first pic we got of him at the end of June I think. Knew he'd turn into something special! received_2561138393918269.jpeg

He definitely is. No telling what that deer will score. He's a giant.

I honestly dont know either. Usually pretty good at on hoof scoring. But this one baffles me haha. We usually dont see the Giants til November. This guy is a home range deer so shakes it up a bit. Last year i saw one 170 a couple times mid December. Year before that there were multiple over 160. I shot a 150 that year. Hope our good luck with our pictures continue into the season haha but im feeling confident. Set up a "meat stand" set up today with some screw in steps and threw a camera up. Hoping to get my doe here and not even go into the woods yet. Man needs some meat lol

I hope you kill another 150 this year. My doe hole has 6-10 coming in every day. Usually I shoot one opening morning.

You and me both. I've stopped shooting them on my lease but I usually always get one or two on public land.

The last two years they've only allowed us to shoot one doe on public. I can actually already see a positive to that in my opinion just from trail camera numbers. Tons of little ones..so my doe are usually on private. But this place needs it..like mentioned before 30+ deer sits is common. Usually I find its about a 20 doe to 10 buck ratio. The last three years we've taken 8 doe off the property and 2 bucks. Other than 1 that my dad shot they are by far the biggest ive ever seen lol crazy the difference in hunting a decently large unpressured parcel makes. I knew how good I had it when I scouted the first year. Just something about chasing public land deer....haha

Looks like some other teams are on the board but no score post yet! We have some catching up to do and most our seasons haven't even started hahaha

Little over two weeks away for me. I’m confident we’ll start putting them down when we can actually hunt.

Sounds awesome man. I tried to put a vacation day in for our first day but it's filled lol so looking like the 29th and 30th evenings for me. Really hoping to maybe get a doe both days and then i can focus on the bucks. But who knows. Might go with one doe then into buck mode.

That’s pretty much my plan, let’s get the 50, then time is on your side just a bit.

Sorry if you're joking and I missed it, but the rules say one buck and one doe per team member ... and it's only the first buck that counts. So if you've got multiple buck tags and that one P&Y buck along with several 120's or 30's that are on the hit list it'd be great if the big boy comes in first. But gosh, it's just a game - have fun out there and shoot what makes you happy!

He meant if we all kill a doe then a few of us kill bucks we’ll be in the running. Although I’m killing multiple bucks this year lol

That's what I was thinking. Took the dog out and put out another camera - pulled the card on that ladder stand again. I have three bucks showing up there. A young 7 pt that I won't even think about and two bigger deer. I think that nice tall one I posted earlier got rid of his velvet in the last couple of days - looks like an 8 with the start of a split G2. He's probably only a 3 year old - mass is not great, but I doubt he'll survive gun season around here.

    Split G2.jpg

Next is a more mature buck - a bit more mass but not as pretty a rack. I'm guessing based on the size of his belly, but still a straight back that he's a 4 or perhaps 5 year old.

    5 yr 8.jpg

I hope I see some more as I'm not crazy about shooting either of these guys. That first one could be something special if he lives a year or two more.

That's what I mean. The length is crazy but they're sort of thin. If I see him in person I'll take a long look at him ... I might just have to ground check him!
