Sorry about that. I hate when that happens, but thank goodness it's early in the season and you've got time to recover!

I didn't mean permethrin was overrated, rather the Sawyer diluted version of it. It's more a matter of my being cheap! :D

The last place we found blood it was all the way to the top of a 6ft tall bush. Still baffles me how it got that high.

Went back to the site of the ladder stand I posted yesterday to do some more work in that area and just for kicks I pulled the card on the trail cam which I had set to video. Lots of videos of blowing grass ... and then this during the night:

Sounds like it was just taking big leaps instead of full on running. I bet he comes back.

You can see the hole in this ones shoulder. I couldn’t have hit it more dead center than I did.

Yeah, if I see him under the stand there will be no second thoughts. You can see the base of the ladder stand. The camera is no more than 12 or 15 yards from the stand. Easy first pin shot if he makes that path a regular thing.

I don't blame you. I'd take that deer in a heart beat. Hopefully you get a chance at him.

We've got an antler restriction in our area where a buck has to have a minimum 13" inside spread OR at least one unbranched antler (ie, a spike on at least one side) ... it would take a bit of careful glassing to make sure that this one doesn't have a small second point on either side, but I'd definitely take that one given an opportunity. That's pretty wild.

Its starting to get real fellas. Closer and closer. We have a couple new 9 points that showed up. I was gonna go stomp around on some public spots today but decided to stick around the family. Think I'm gonna stay out and just check them out with my stand on my back in season.

Yeah we are exited about that guy lol this is a 300 acre piece of land and every picture I've ever posted has came from there. I got permission three years ago and we are the sole hunters. Theres four of us counting Austin. We have pictures of at least 7 different deer id consider a "shooter". I'm very fortunate. I actually mainly hunt public land lol but makes this place that much sweeter. Its not uncommon to see 30+ deer a day out here. Best place ive ever hunted by far.
