Starts Sept 28 here in Texas ... but I leave the next morning for Nebraska ... unfortunately for a conference, not to hunt. So I may get out on Saturday, but then I'm not back until the 3rd.
Won’t be long now. The day I get home will be our deer opener. Oct 1. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Well team, I just got back from my hunting trip from Maryland and what a blast that was. In my 22 hours of hunting I had 57 deer sightings, lots of little bucks and fawns close in bow range. I had a good buck I was mainly after and had him in at 58 yards till a doe got my wind and busted me. Also saw a corker 150" class buck. Unfortunately I came back empty handed but had an awesome time none the less. Will be back in stand Monday for opening day in CT
Got a new ladder stand put up, some shooting lanes cut (after taking these photos) and put out a camera on the opposite side of the clearing. I did a bit of scouting around this area and pushed a couple of doe around as I was walking. Sent from my SM-G892A using Tapatalk

Thermacell. And "Sawyer" permethrin is overrated and far over priced. Go to a feed store and buy a quart of plain ol permethrin for about $15 or $20 (it's the same thing, only in concentrated form).
Yeah Im in t he same boat but other end of spectrum with Kids in College paying their tuition, room and board etc. One more year left.
Well guys i had this guy come in Saturday evening with minutes left in shooting light. I shanked the shot and caught him in the shoulder. Blood trail vanished after about 80 yards. Walked the entire property on Sunday grid searching for him. No dice. I’m still sick. I hate to wound anything.
Worked on a second property today. Checking out the straps and life line on the stand where I've gotten my Hamilton county buck for the last two years. This stand is in the rare oak tree that's big enough to put a tree stand in central Texas. It also overlooks a corn feeder (legal here in Texas). Hunting over a feeder with a bow is not quite shooting fish in a barrel like it is with a rifle. Even though I see a lot of deer when I'm in it, there are often too many eyes on the ground and it's very difficult to move without being seen and busted. Sent from my SM-G892A using Tapatalk
Man that sucks! I bet he shows back up. I did the same thing last year and he was back on camera within a week. Hopefully yours does the same.
For $10 and two treatments im good for the whole year. Do it in Turkey season and beginning of deer season. Use the same light gear. Obviously don't need it on my heavier stuff lol I wouldn't call it over rated though. Never have ticks, chiggers, mites, or skeeters bother me and my buddies get infested. Made them believers haha Sent from my LML212VL using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
