Wow I'll say. Congrats awesome hunt. It has been so tough here. Alot of pressure on public land and the Gobbles were no where in the distance. Came up short. Went out 4 of the 5 days and came close once. I am disappointed this year because I usually can get on birds. The just are not very vocal here right now. I wonder if it has to do with the cold spring or what? Saw a few different hens they were all alone. Weird. Just weird.

Zach...congrats to you and Okbowhunter. That's awesome.

I didn't have any luck yesterday morning. I did call in two longbeards but they stayed 30 yards from me walking the wood-line. Too many bushes and trees for me to get a shot off. They finally came out into the field where I was (60 yards away) and saw my decoys. One half-strutted and then they both walked off. Never could get them any closer.

Well boys, the turkeys were not there today. It had rained about an inch last night and was still pretty dark and damp all morning. I will be watching for more birds this week though. Hope you all have some good luck.

Well I'm back guys. Honeymoon and wedding both went great. It's good to be back in the good old USA though. I'm ready to start shooting fish and chasing birds!

    Congrats and welcome back Jim!

I went out this morning and heard several birds but couldn't do anything with them. I also lost my slate call striker.

Wow, it was an absolutely miserable weekend of turkey hunting. Saw a few hens a jake and no longbeards. It was terrible windy yesterday. I have a slow school and work week so I might have a few opportunities to get out during the week. Only got till May 6, I had better get the ball rolling if I plan on scoring us more than just that jake.

Good luck Zach. I'm not going to get to make it out this weekend. My parents went to Kansas to go turkey hunting and Whitney and I get to watch my little sister all weekend.:smash:

No luck the other day Jim, I swear it has rained everyday for like a week, now I thank the Good Lord for the moisture, everyone knows how precious it is, but it sure makes the turkey hunting pretty tough.

I hear ya. It has rained here off and on all week. I was trying to go do a little bowfishing today but its looking like thunderstorms again. Got a picture mail from dad this morning. He shot a pretty good gobbler up in kansas. He only took one pic on his cell so I will try and get it posted up monday.

Well boys, me and OKbowhunter went out this evening after a ton of rain. Saw a total of 4 deer, 4 hens and lots of meadowlarks. Ill be honest with yall, my 27 point jake might have to be all I contribute to this team unless something major changes in the next 2 days. Thats all I got untill our season closes. Good luck to the rest of you guys.

Well fellas, tomorrow is the end of another great turkey season. It is supposed to be cloudy in the a.m. and sunny in the p.m. I am going to do my best to make it an all day affair. It will be the first day without rain in like 2 weeks, I am sick of the rain but it is going to make for an awful green spring. Wish me luck on my last outing this season. I hope you guys have some good luck in the future.
