For those of you who will be hunting late season. I have to tell you it is one of my favorite seasons to hunt. To give you a little incentive. This link is the 2nd biggest buck I have ever taken to date.

Dmax. That's a heck of a late season buck. My best late season was 12/24/17. Taken with my smoke pole at the family farm.

Went to the lease at noon today and pulled 3 ground blinds. Any hunting left will be done from one of the ladder stands. ML season goes out this Sunday. Archery runs till 1/7/24.

 

Anybody out this weekend? Our PA late season is almost here. It runs 12/26 - 1/13. It's one of my favorite seasons to hunt.

I was able to get out yesterday, but I only saw a doe and a fawn. I'm back to work today and then I'm off until next Tuesday. I'll be back on stand tomorrow morning. There's only 1 buck I would shoot here in PA, but he hasn't shown himself in daylight since November. We need some really cold temperatures to get them moving in the daylight. Good luck to all those who are still hunting.

 

This mild winter has them all moving later than usual. No need to get up to feed a lot with temps in the 50's. I'm out of tags but I've been trying to do some ice fishing. They don't call me Jesus so walking on water was not an option.

I know you have late season food sources. Eventually ones going to show up.

 

There calling for snow here on Saturday. I plan on setting up on a food source and see what happens.
