I’m back out at home today and tomorrow with my crossbow for the last two days of rifle season.

I’m out of possible points for the team. But out every chance I get.

I plan on getting out this afternoon and then again the end of the week. Going to setup on the downwind side of a bedding thicket next to a cut corn field tonight. See if I can find a decent buck to fire up some triple seven on.

Out of points as well but I’ve been out a lot. Still looking to fill my second buck tag. They’re definitely bed to food in my area.

    Damn you and thank you.
For what you ask. I had the smallest buck in the contest. Now I don’t.
It’s still a trophy in my book. Congrats.

Been working with a logger at the farm getting trees selected for harvest. He stopped by this evening and gave me his inventory list and these. Said he found them by one of my ladder stands.

Yep. That buck was seen this year early in the season out of the stand where the logger found the drops. Sheds never make it more than a year before the critters start chewing them up.

Put a tape to the sheds this morning.

The rack has almost 38 inches of mass. I did some guessing on the tines that were chewed off and the spread. He would have been in the mid 30's.

Pretty much a typical top end farm buck. We have taken one 160 couple 150's and several 140's over the years.

So he should’ve been a strong 140's this year.

Bow season opens back up tomorrow here.

Unfortunately found my #1 buck on one of my farms dead. Ended up throwing my gun tag on him, but did eventually find the guy who shot him and they lost him tracking. Taped out to 139, thought he'd hit 150. Nice deer though, pretty chocolate rack. Last pic I have of him was staring down a coyote, died 10 yards from there. Been doing some good pheasant hunting though![IMG][IMG][IMG]

It's ok, I have a bigger one on my other farm, glad to know no sense in wasting time there now.

Bone, Here's a couple of pics of the young buck I call Goofy. It will be interesting to see what he looks like in a couple of years.

Hey fellers, as you know from previous years, I'm usually a ghost during November and December. I was able to tag out here in Wisconsin and finally got around to taping him. Took me a little longer as I got pretty sick the day after taking this deer. In fact, I was sick for my entire Kansas trip but was able to tag a buck there on the last 15 minutes of my hunt. I saw some true giants in Kansas and had the same one at 25 yards on three occasions and couldn't get a shot off. That's a wrap for me this season. Keep grinding whoever is still headed out!
