This field is totally surrounded by wood strips leading to the river.

 

I saw 1 buck this evening. 10 pt maybe 130. Once again he walked at 80 yds.

I gotta see something better soon or I'm headed to the family farm. If Ain't 150 why waste a bullet..

 

Bone, that was a stud of a buck that you saw on the way out yesterday. I take it that you don't have permission to hunt that property??

Gonna hunt midday today out of a ground blind that I have not been in yet this year. My camera blew up last night with chasing action. Hoping a big one finally comes by and puts an end to my quest!

 

All settled. I can see a lot of the lease from this set up. Need a hot young doe to bring me a gagger...

 

Best of luck! Looking at that view reminds me so much of hunting in IL. My dad and I had a 160-acre lease out there from 1999 -2005. I hope you get a Booner today Bone.

Ran dogs with the hunting club I’m looking to join. Not my thing but they require two runs as a ‘get to know you’ before admission. Watched a 12 yo boy kill a giant. So stoked for him. But i’m out today as a guest with my bow to see if I can find his brother.

I'm out, no shooters this morning. I did see a lot of deer but the biggest buck I saw was a 3 point. I almost believe the rut is over here. All of the does had their fawns with them.

 

No bucks this afternoon. All does and fawns.

 

Had nothing last night that worked right. First archery split ends the 1st here.

Finally had a big one on camera at the lease but he is broke up bad. I am taking 3 days off and rest up. I'll be headed to the family farm Wednesday evening to hunt one of the shooting houses over looking a corn field next to big woods.

 

I decided I wasn't gonna hunt today to work on the house.
