Gonna move a ground blind today at lunch. Then I gotta get yard work caught up on this afternoon. The next two weeks are devoted to stand time. I'll be out tomorrow evening hunting along the river. I'm still not seeing a lot of chasing going on. Still need to be out there.

I still think its a week away Entro. At least where I live. That big nanny my brother shot showed no signs of being ready to breed.

 

BTW. Yard work done. Nothing on my honey dew list for the next two weeks.

Ground blind pulled but need to fine tune a couple things before setting it up. Will do that tomorrow before I hunt.

 

Somewhere I seen they were forecasting prime rut day on 11/11. Typically, it's 10 days after the full moon.

 

That would jive with what I'm seeing. I still have yet to get a pic of one I can get fired up about. Hoping that happens this week.

 

Change of plans for today. I was gonna put in ground blind at lunch then hunt the river stand the rest of the day. Been getting a lot of midday movement on my cell cam over by the river. I'm heading in at 9am this morning and sitting as long as I can or until dark. Any slick head in range will be in trouble. I keep hoping a big one will cross that river crossing looking for some booty.

I really thought someone would have put one down this weekend. A lot of chasing going on around here. Find the does and you'll find the bucks.

 

Dead here at both farms. Will see what happens the next few days.

I'm taking tomorrow off because I have use it or lose it vacation time to take. I went outside this afternoon and ended up seeing two 8 point buck within 50 yards of my house chasing does. Hopefully the action will still be happening tomorrow. No Sunday hunting in PA except for 3 days. 1 for Archery, 1 for bear and 1 for rifle deer.

 

Heading over to the lease to setup a fence row ground spot. Will cut out a hole and leave a bag chair to use. Then I'll hunt it tomorrow evening with the right wind.

 

Fence row prepped. Scrape 15 yards to the west.

Looks real good Bone. I can already see the bucks coming down the fence row to check scraps.

Man, I had a great day in the stand today. I saw 6 or 7 different bucks today chasing does. The longest period of time I didn't see anything was 45 minutes. I didn't shoot anything, but I could have. I had opportunity on a 80" 8 point and a 110" 8 point. I was just enjoying it too much and I know there is another 8 point that will go 120" +, which is rare in PA.

 

Delimma. Got text that they have been picking corn on the neighbors ground that surrounds me. Suppose to be high 70s this afternoon. Not conductive to dealing with a evening shot deer. Not a great wind for most of my setups either. But, they may be running all over the place. If I go it would take something special to loose a bolt.

Here's the delima. My sweet wife made dinner plans a month ago for this evening and just reminded me of it this morning.
