Team 8 - In Early, Out L8 - Returning Champions

I'm starting to get 3 - 5 year old buck pics at last light or right at the first crack of daylight. That's a good sign for me. I can't get back out in a stand in Ohio until Saturday afternoon. I'm staying at least until Monday or Tuesday. Big buck are going to start dropping in the next 2 - 3 weeks.

 

I'm loaded up and headed out in the morning. I'll be on stand tomorrow afternoon. Good luck out there this weekend.

Change of plans. Talked with my sister last night and she told me they are having a issue with deer eating her flowers and garden up this year and have been seeing up to nine does running together the past 2 weeks.
BIL doesnt hunt anymore since his heart attack. Asked if I'd come kill some. I gladly said yes.

Headed over to put a ground blind up this morning and will hunt it tonight. Target rich environments are nice to have when looking for a freezer queen. They have some good bucks too. But it would take something special for me to launch an arrow at one.

 

Got the blind in. Going to call it the outhouse blind. This is where she said they see them while standing on the damn of their lake in the evenings.

Been settled for an hour. Found buck bed 30 yards from blind walking in. Wind swirling. Don't have much confidence of seeing any if it does not stop going in circles.

 

If there not pressured they may come looking for you.

I’ve got about 25 minutes of daylight left. I’ve seen a spike, 5, 7 and an 8 point along with some turkey. Hoping Splits shows up soon.

Just got winded by something. They blew at me several times and I heard them go down the ridge. I was afraid that would happen. Need west to southwest wind for this blind to work.

Finally going to have a good wind for this stand tomorrow evening. Will be the first time it's been hunted since we put it up.

 

I only seen a spike and a small 8 point this morning. I think the rain is finally done so I’m heading back to where I missed that big one a couple weeks ago.
