Just found out big boy got shot last weekend of gun season. Have not heard who got him but it is him.

This changes everything. I'll be hunting for the next good buck.
Gonna drag back out the cross bow and go tomorrow evening.

    BTW shoulder doing better.

Here is a Pic of him. He broke off the dagger on his left beam.

He broke off the dagger on his left beam. Buck was 10 miles from my lease when killed.

Sorry to hear someone else got your target. That's hard to believe he was 10 miles away. Just crazy what the rut does to a buck looking for love. Glad to hear the shoulder is on the mend. Good luck with the crossbow tomorrow. There is still plenty of time left in the season. The biggest buck I have taken to date was taken 2 years ago the day after Christmas.

Dang. That sucks. Had the same thing happen to me this year. Definitely changed my plans and standards too. I was kind of relieved in a sense because everything I did was for that one deer the last two seasons. I ate a tag last year and passed better bucks than the one I ended up shooting because of him.

It's 2 am at the bar and the good looking bartender you've been tipping well all night just had her boyfriend show up to help her close down. Time to change plans. You have three options. 1: Get lucky with a different 10. 2: Settle for something else who may not look that great when laying there after the fact. 3: Go home and touch your own "bone" Choose wisely my friend and good luck.

Should be all posted up for my November 7 buck. Hahaha. 100 6/8. Couple pics. One right before I shot which is a still frame pic of the video. He hit a mock scrape and licking branch I set up months ago. I had a cheap camera on it that you can see in the pic right over his back that had some blood on it following the shot.

First off.. thanks Gemini for getting your buck posted! Heck of a nice deer brother.

I'm going to mention though that you get 4 mass measurement per side. I only seen three on the posted up score. I believe you probably got couple more inches that we could use. I'll let Entro or Dmax chime in if so.

    Entro.. what ya think?

You are absolutely correct! Geminin you are missing your H4 circumference measurements. It is taken midway between the end of the main beam and the G3 points. It's probably close to 2" on each side. I'm surprised that Chief didn't catch it. Good catch Bone!

Like I told Bone Head Hunter, the score breakdown GeminiRidge posted was so blurry I couldn’t make it out very well.

I do most of these entries from my cell phone and I just didn’t notice that it was missing. Also, since I do over half of the scorecard entries while I’m actually in my stand hunting I don’t have time to actually check the math on each one. I have a hard enough time doing the team total math in my head while keeping my eyes and ears open for deer.

I do check to make sure that it’s scored in eighths instead of quarters because that’s a show stopper, but I figure if something is missing from the total the team will let me know and if something needs to be deducted then the other teams will let me know.

    Sorry fellas
Sorry fellas, that's on me. Haven't scored one in two years. Let's just add another 20 inches and call it good. Hehehe. I'm working on a doe right now but will get it posted correctly. Thanks for letting me know.

Chief I wasn’t faulting you at all. I just know you’re like me and it’s all about attention to detail. Maybe that’s what the military drilled into us. You do an awesome job at keeping up with this contest and I admire that. You travel to 3 - 4 states hunting and have killed at least 10 deer this year. I don’t know how you do it, but I know we all appreciate it.

I appreciate it, and no worries brother. I didn't take it as a hit on me at all. Sometimes I just feel like explaining why a thing happens or doesn't happen.

    Thanks Gemini!

No biggie.. we all make mistakes. The forth mass measurements always messed me up early on because I thought you had to have a 10 point to get it. It's easy to over look.

Thanks @LittleChief for updating our score!

Like I said you do a bang up job with the contest.

Guys.. I sent @jvanhees a pm checking on him. He was our alternate that was added. Long story short is that I have been on his team in the past and he always killed deer. He doesn't post much and never has. I'm hoping he checks in at some point to let us know how his season is going and has some points to add to our total.

Congratulations on the doe! Glad to hear you're still looking for a buck. Get that doe entered.
