    Happy Thanksgiving guys!

Just now had the chance to check in today. Went this morning and had a great hunt. Saw a decent 3yr old. Also saw couple cyotes that came in early. Didn't want to be shooting so early and mess up our hunt. SIL saw a small buck and a button.

Here is a pic off my phone of the buck I saw.

Good looking buck. Good potential on that one.

Settled in for my afternoon hunt. One of my targets showed up 10 minutes after shooting light ended last night so I’m hoping he comes out a little earlier this evening. Only my second sit in this stand this season. Good luck team.

Sitting the gteenfield again tonight. Talked with farmer that planted it. Told me it was done for erosion.
Barley, rye, canola and clover. Now that's a good food plot to me. All 35 acres.

Sounds like a winter cover crop to hold the soil.
That sounds like a deer magnet to me.

Field is very sandy. That is why he did it I'm sure. I thanked him properly.

30 minutes before dark the wind switched. I backed out early so as not educate the ladies. Saw 8 turkeys around 4 pm.

I gotta take a break. Hell I'm 63 and I just cant keep running on empty everyday.

Now I know how that old 8 or 9 year old buck feels at the end of the first rut.

What a crappy day. Set 8-1/2 hours and only saw a spike at last 15 minutes of daylight.

This time of year things slow up a bunch for about ten days for me here in indiana. Cameras are not getting hardly any pics. It time for what I call the after rut shutdown.

Today is the first day of the Ohio gun season so the archery equipment has been set aside this morning. I’ll be taking the .450 bushmaster for a long walk today. Good luck out there today.

I ended up not seeing a deer on Monday. I'll be headed back out this weekend. Something has to break.

I'll be out Saturday carrying the TC smoke pole. Gonna sit the green field and hope he strolls through going to his bedding area in the morning.

Saw two does being chased by a Forky on the way home this morning from getting groceries with the wife around 9 am.

From the rut so far I think they are going to fire back up for the next 7 days.

Man, I sure hope your right about firing back up. I'm starting to get burnt out and these fuel costs for my diesel truck every weekend are killing me.

Rifle season here in Maryland until December 10th. Muzzleloader comes in December 17th so I'm pretty much done with the bow. Going to try and get one of my boys to go this Sunday with me so I can at least get out and see some deer.

Hope everyone had a happy Thanksgiving and has a safe and merry Christmas.

Gun season this weekend in Iowa, taking out the 450 all weekend. Should be fun, heading to our farm in southern Iowa.
