Starting to see smaller bucks moving around a bit more. I also noticed the deer are moving way earlier on cool days. Around 5 PM instead of dusk.! They have started cutting corn here. I am sure the big guys are still smack dab in the middle of the big corn fields. Won't be to much longer now!

This was Evercalm's power showing through last evening. I've used Evercalm for 5 years now. Seeing is believing....I put some on my boots everyother time out. This little guy caught the scent and came to my ladder. My Everalm stick is 3 seasons old now.

Hope to get out this coming weekend. Been working like crazy trying to earn some free time.

Got a couple cards pulled and have a lot of little ones. Not sure what is going on with the left side on this guy.

Hope the bigger guys will start moving soon. Good luck to those that are in the woods!!!

Plan to get out on sit #3 this week most likely Wednesday or Thursday. This is the least I have hunted in my 19 years of bowhunting. Not sure what it is. A combination of obligations, weather, and lack of motivation (in part because of the aforementioned weather).

30mph gusts this morning made me skip and a feels like temp at 90 this afternoon meant no hunting for me. Thankfully i did a ton of stuff to hopefully free me up for the rest of the week

Just some fun talk while we wait for some points on the board....

What's a funny moment you've had while hunting that makes you laugh when thinking of it?

Something that happened to me while climbing up to my stand, I had a nice buck come out of nowhere while I was about 15 foot up. Still had another section of stix to climb but had to freeze and hug the tree. It felt like 10 minutes solid that he stud there(15 yards away) waiting to catch movement. My feet were hurting on those small steps and I had to adjust so I tried to lift my leg to the next step and puff he was outta there. The rut was going on so I felt he heard me walking in and come running. I just remember hugging that tree for eternity.

So I get to my stand and take my fanny pack off and snap it around my tree and grab my binos. Start glassing to where he ran to but couldn't see him anymore. I sit down in disbelief and about 45 min later I see a couple does sneaking through the creek bottom. They were looking behind so I thought I'd stand up and get ready. I had forgot to pull my bow up after the first buck caught me off guard.

Good memories without even pulling the trigger. That's why I love bowhunting.

It is pouring rain here. I checked 2 cams before setting in. A lot bucks but nothing to speak of. Foodplot is looking great after a dry summer. The wheat oats rape and turnips are filling in nice after my beans got devoured.

First deer of evening is a forky.

Ugh just finished shooting for the day and I notice some serious string wear around my bottom cam, definitely getting close to that dangerous line. My local shop said itll be about 130 to replace and that is not in the budget right now (wife is pregnant with our first!!)... gonna call some other shops and see if I can find it any cheaper and check the shed to see what I can sell off haha

The only thing that could have been better tonight is if I could have sent an arrow through the boiler room. 7 bucks and 12 does seem tonight. 2 of the bucks were shooters, a 9 and 10. The 9 is really big probably close to 160 and the 10 is 140ish. There was so good fighting amongst all the bucks too. It is always good to be surprised at what is seen. Tonight was a good sit.
