First sit of the year and it was nice to be in the woods. Acorns seem to be the early morning ticket as several came through for a bite before the sun warmed everything up. Time is flying, it will be Halloween before we know it.
Acorns brought us luck today. 50 points on the board. 18 ft in buddy stand and got to share a first deer taken with my 7 year old watching how it goes down.
Today is only 82° with it increasing as the week goes but a cool down Monday of 56° so tonight I’ll be there…sweating & swatting but can’t shoot them from the couch Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I spent last week bowhunting Illinois. Saw one shooter at a distance. I have two old big bodied 8s here at my house. I have not hunted them yet. Still waiting to see if my target may show on some scrape sets I have set up. These 8s are pretty solid shooters though. Old, mature, just will not score alot.
I thought about going out this morning but decided to sleep in. Supposed to rain and storm around 6 pm so figured I’d hang out with the family and start hunting next weekend. Shot my bow this afternoon. Ready to get out in the woods.
Finally got a good wind tonight and tomorrow. That mixed with the cold front and I feel like I need to get out tonight. Here’s hoping it works out!! Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Good luck. Weather has been good here as well, and of course I'm at work. Hoping to get out for the first bow sit this Saturday morning.
With 4 minutes of legal light I had an owl land in my tree & then had to wait at the base of the tree stand while two bobcat passed by at 7 yards Nothing else to report Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Moving a stand. Apparently 17 yards is too close so I have a date with a chain saw today & with any luck I’ll be closer 28 yards & tucked in a little deeper. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
