Well guys its finally here! Its 4:18 am and I just got out of my scent eliminating shower. Will be off to the property shortly. Can't believe the season came up so quick. Im just so pumped to get out there!!

Good luck JPT. I'm set up again over same plot as yesterday. Seen 6 does and a really nice buck. Waited for buck to come up to 8 yards like the does, but that never happened and does eventually walked outta my shooting lanes. Guess we will see how today goes. Set up closer to where they came out.

 

Well guys, I have to apologize to you all..... Went out and sat for the first time of the year tonight. Had my regular tag, and a bonus tag for a doe in my pocket. Had a nice doe come out shortly before dark, and gave me 2 awesome shot opportunities, and I let her walk!!! After she moved on, I was kicking myself hard!!! I just have the hardest time shooting anything on my first sid of the year... Had 2 little 4 points hanging around just before she came thru. It was fun to watch them push each other around. They got into it pretty good right in front of one of my trail cams, flash was going off right in their faces. One of them even went up and started rubbing the steel post it was mounted on..

 

Face paint is on and I am ready to rock!! Some of my bucks were there Friday morning. With today being pretty cold lets hope they do the same thing.

 

well I videotaped my bros shooting deer yesterday. Went out this morning, the wind I thought was in our favor, all the deer came from the wrong direction and winded us. now it is the wait till October 1st. The do it twisted...tine...team!!!lol

 

I had a bad weekend hunting wise. Enough said about that.

I will be heading up next weekend to the cabin and will be hunting alone instead of with my son. Should help out a little bit.

No luck this weekend. Had a mature doe (she is around 5 1/2 years old- according to my uncle who has bow hunted for 35 years) at 25 yards. Couldn't make it happen!

 

Went to check cameras this evening and decided to follow the trail where I saw the does come from last weekend. Found a cluster of oak trees, acorns everywhere. Hung a stand immediatly.

 

Went for a drive around main farm tonite. Wow. Did we see the deer. Saw several big bucks along with 40-50 does in every type of field we have. Hope one of them mess up next wed. and it will be all she wrote.

 

Kill one of those does and get us on the boards

Well boys oct 1st is almost here!! Not going out opening morning due to work but ill be out almost every night of the week. I dont think I have told you guys yet but I lost my lease about about a month ago.... So im stuck hunting another property by my house which its not the best hunting but its definitely better then nothing. Then I have my property up north that Ill be hunting on the weekends. That property holds quite a few nice deer but being that its 2 hours away its hard to get up there as much as I would like too. Anyways good luck to everyone thats out there this weekend!

 

Sorry about your lease, good luck hunting though! My dad is letting me take the day off of school for opening morning and he is taking the day off of work. Can't wait!

 

Its all good. Im actually kind of happy because Ill be able to hunt my own property up north more. Looks like its going to be warm next week which sucks... Late evening/early morning should be good though!

 

So far it says Sunny and 55 for October 1st in my area. Hopefully it stays that way, just want the temp to drop a little bit!

 

Up here by Lansing it says high of 77 and low of 61 for tuesday. Its suppose to be like that the whole week..

 

Had this guy on camera this morning. He is #1 on the hit list so far.
